OK here goes; Received a call from the above number just now. The female stated very clearly that she was from the Telstra technical department. She said that as there are overseas hackers using my computer that they will have to disconnect it for three weeks. Recognising the number I decided to play along, occasionally one needs a good laugh!! I stated that I was on long service leave and didn't care less if they killed the internet. She then requested me to open my computer immediately so it could be fixed. My response went clear over her head; I stated that I am on a cruise ship and am no-where near the computer. Her response was you need to open the computer now!. I responded; OK if it is so urgent I require a helicopter from the ship to get me to Bali, then a plane to Sydney, ( I don't live anywhere Sydney let-alone in NSW) then a bus to take me out West. She said Don't mess with me... I replied If its so urgent Telstra will pay for it all. She hung up. Well that's my laugh for the day....

I have had three calls from the above number in two days. Tonight at 8pm I received the third of these calls. The indian accented male stated he was from Telstra Technical and that they are going to cut my internet in 15 hours as it was being used to download illegal... I cut him short by stating that I am 2000 ks from home. This had no effect as he then requested me to turn on my computer, my response was I am in a truck are your ears painted on!! He then said that my computer is being hacked now sir... My response, so what. He then hung up.
Certainly beat the boredom of watching the idiot box..

I have received several calls from this number, recommencing early January 2017. Same thing happened in 2016 for several weeks, but eventually stopped. If I answer the phone there's just silence, so I hang up. If I don't answer the phone, the number registers in my messages - out of curiosity, I tried calling the number back but received a recorded message adving me that I couldn't be connected. If I'm out for the day, I'll often find they've called me several times (number registered in messagebank, but no message left). Excessively irritating … more so, since I have my number registered on the Government's Do Not Call register. The authorities need to address this issue, find out who these people are, and have a permanent block put on them by Telstra … as if!!!!!!

I responded to the lady by saying I did not own a computer and have nothing to do with Telstra and she asked me why I was lying and hung up on me.

Just had another call from these clowns. This is an Australian Communications & Media Authority issue - only they know who "owns" this number - aka who is using it, it could be any carrier - so it shouldn't be hard for ACMA to stomp on it. But, oh, take decisive action? That's a bit hard for a "public servant"!

They ring me almost daily, if they don't hang up on me, I lead them on, and act very dumb. Sure I am wasting my time, but I am also wasting theirs. Asian voices are in the background, why do they keep trying to rip Aussies off?

I had them call me today and I too led them on a little bit but in the end I said, "Sorry, you're not really from Telstra and I'm busy". The female caller then told me to "F%$# off" and hung up.

Claimed to be the federal police, after looking up the complaints I can see otherwise.

Here is the governments take on the Telstra Technical Support virus/hacking scam on their scamwatch site. It is not going to stop these Indian call centres from relentlessly calling. It really needs a concerted effort by the Australian and Indian governments to crack down on these Indian call centres. Indian police are doing this but can only do so much. It is so profitable for these call centres that they keep on doing it.

Received a call from this number - man with Indian accent told me he was calling from Telstra about our internet service (we are not with Telstra). I tried to sound concerned and anxious but must have put it on too thick - he hung up without hassling or insulting me.
