A man called and said he was from Telstra and I had a fault on my line. I said "I just need to check you are really from Telstra. What is your number, I'll call you back". He hung up. Then a woman called with the same story. She was Indian so we took turns asking questions. She would ask me about my internet connection, and I would ask her about Indian cooking. After about half an hour, I said there was a knock on the door and put the phone down. I could hear her saying "Hello", "Are you still there" for about 10 minutes before she hung up. Ha Ha. A win to the good guys!

They spoke but in a different language, I guess the NOOB women forgot she was speaking in Australia to an Australian :p

Left them on the phone until they hung up the phone :)

I could tell it was spam right away with the background noise and the 5 second silence

Been getting phone calls from this number for a couple of months. Is there any way we can block it on a home phone?

Managed to string them on for 45 minutes being passed on to a senior supervisor who wanted me to explain a secure cisco router setup.
This is not a legitimate phone number. When I tried to call it back, there is a Telstra message saying 'This number is not connected.'
They finally got pissed off and hung up

I work for Telstra as an account manager - DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYTHING THESE PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY!

Almost scammed one of my customers.

We had three calls in two days from this number. Like in the other instances, the female (Indian voice) claimed to be a Telstra technician calling to address my computer problems.

These pricks phoned me saying they were calling from Telstra. When I told the Indian guy I was not connected to the Telstra network and that after I had received a similar call from the same phone number I had "googled" the number and spotted there were 68 complaints shown against that number,he quickly ended the call with a "f*ck you"

Hey, I do that too but I eventually pretend to follow their instructions. When they ask what I can see on the screen I say I'll spell it out - f-u-c .... that's when they hang up. Great fun.

Got a call,
She tried to tell me that all the service providers in Australia were subsiduaries of Telstra, then when I was not complying to her requests, she asked very abruptly "are you a computer expert", anyone that rude could not possibly work for a real customer service agency.
Hopefully they don't get too many people.

These ratbags ring me sometimes 3 times a day & it's been happening for months, so I've bought a whistle so now I give them a blast. How stupid, they still ring. It must be very profitable. Wish Telstra could stop it,when you ring back,Telstra says the no.not connected!

I had a Telstra fault earlier in the day and then in the afternoon received a call from this number. They said that they were from Telstra. As soon as they said that they wanted access to my computer I hung up and then tried to call back the number but there was a Telstra message saying that this number is disconnected. I was alarmed because it came so soon after contacting Telstra.

Just had the same call. Asked that I open a CMD prompt, this is the first step to taking over your computer. Kept them on the phone for a while and then they hung up.. What a bunch of bozo's.
