Yeah got the same message & rang Telstra and they said it's a scam they would never ask for details when calling you. I had the same 1800 no to call.

This is a Telstra Call Centre, they call to confirm orders. If they call you they may ask for your details to confirm that you are the person they wish to speak to. If you haven't placed an order, ask for an order number and their employee number. Then call back to 132200 and speak to a consultant, they will then assist you.

I had a message come through to my phone today saying that someone from Telstra would be calling me today. Someone did call me, and she wanted to confirm my name, address, date of birth...I told her to call me back later. How many poor people are going to cop this?!

This number is legitimate. I received an SMS text message out of the blue that was supposedly from Telstra, stating they were going to call me to verify some account issues. I ignored it but then within a few days received a call from (02) 9478 2500. The questions they asked me left me suspicious about a scam, so I told them that I will call the Telstra 132200 number to verify what notes had been recorded on my account.
The Telstra operator I spoke to confirmed the appropriate notes were recorded, so the enquiry is legitimate.

Thanks for all the comments. I just had 3 missed calls from this number. Appreciate all the comments as yesterday I put a complaint into Telstra so normally would have responded back to them. Glad for the heads up & am not responding or giving any details.

I had 2 missed calls from (02) 9478 2500 then a voicemail saying they were from Telstra and want to confirm account details. I also got 2 text messages saying Hi from Telstra, we need to confirm we have the correct details for your account. Please call us on 1800 870 456 between 9am-7pm Monday to Friday AEDT.
Hi, we have just called about your Telstra account. Please call us back on 1800 870 456 between 9am-7pm Monday to Friday AEDT
I called their normal line 132200 and the lady said there's nothing wrong with my account but knew who was trying to call me, she said their queue was long so will get them to call me back... still sounds a little sus to me considering I know my account isn't overdue but will answer their call when they ring me and see what they say.

If they have some information about you then it must be people connected with Telstra call centres overseas. Of course there would be some who want to make a few dollars on the side. Scammers!!

Same as the rest. Sent a text saying it's Telstra and they will call me to confirm my details. Telstra DOES NOT operate in this manner.

Genuine call from Telstra admin team. I declined to provide information requested & stated that I preferred to call them back on the main switch line - called Telstra direct on 132200 & the person I spoke to confirmed that it was a Telstra representative who rang & put me through to their department

I had 6 missed calls from this number in 2 days. Thought I'd google it and can see all the above comments. I very recently had a Internet issue and communication happening with Telstra and now this???? Interesting......

Called me this morning and wanted to confirm details. Thought it was strange as I am always paid up on time. Caller even went as far as reading out disclaimers about privacy then asked me to say my surname and he would spell it back to me and I would have to confirm that. Was already suspicious so said I didn't feel comfortable - he then laughed at me so I hung up. Throughout the day I have recieved numerous text messages asking me to call 1800 870 456 to confirm my details..... Do not get sucked into this scam!

Just had a call. Sounded suspicious but they somehow had all my details. Every time they wanted me to answer something like what number do you prefer to be contacted on I said the one you have. They also knew who was authorised to act on my behalf - my wife and her name - as well as my email address. They even suggested I change my password - which I will do. Hard to decide whether genuine or not.
