Said he was from Telstra wanting to up date my details. I said I will call Telstra to confirm he insisted I right down a reference number . He was rude and arrogant. I received 6 messages he called 6 times. So glad I did reverse phone numbers

Chatted with Telstra support after receiving a text and call from this number. Even though it sounds like a scam, this number is apparently a legitimate Telstra number. They confirmed that someone tried to call me, according to my account details. They told me it was the CA&CI Cell Investigation Team.

I have never ever in my entire life had a Telstra account and this number called me today. I didn't answer, they left no message. Has to be scam for sure or a cold call, both in which I have no interest in entertaining. Number blocked.

Wanted to confirm that the person that I have authorised to use my account is still valid. I said that I don't have anyone else to do this. After a few more suspect questions I said that I am going to end the call because I do not believe that you are from Telstra.

This number called immediately after I'd hung up from Telstra. Wasn't able to answer because I was calling Telstra a second time after being cut off the first time. I'd have been fooled (and I've never been fooled up til now) so I'm glad I checked this site.

Claimed to be from telstra and wanted to confirm i was account holder. I advised do not call register and did not confirm detail. To me the femail caller had philpino accent and tried to convince me she was from telstra. I have not held a telstra account for over 15 years.definately a scam

Had the same experience. Phoned me on Friday, after the text message and demanded that I verify my details. Said that i dont give out my details and hung up. They re-phoned immediately, then sent a text telling me to phone them "they will wait !" They then called my mobile the next day 6 times and scarily, my home phone (not Telstra) twice. They knew my name and obviously, my address (to get my home number) Gave them nothing this time, but next time I will definitely let them know how I feel about them.

Confirmed it is Telstra. I had SmS saying "Hi from Telstra, we will be calling shortly in reference to your Telstra account Any questions call 1800 531 866 Mon to Fri, 9am to 7pm AEST." When call came they asked details and I became suspicious when they offered to link my Telstra account with my driver licence - I said no - I'm not comfortable providing any more details. On hanging up I immediately contacted Telstra - they were able to verify it was legit! No scam. Amen!

SCAM Interesting they even have people here saying it is legitimate lol

2 calls & voicemail message no doubt to pick up name details too ... follows hot on heels of Queensland call caking to be from Vodafone ... SCAM

When a company calls you, they have all of your details on their screen. As THEY have called YOU, you have the right to ask them to read back your information and you can confirm or deny its accuracy. If YOU call THEM though, you must provide the detail for them to verify your identity. Do not get caught out in this scam as it is most definitely a scam to secure your identity details. Block this number asap, or they will never stop trying.

Oddly enough this is accurate. I telephoned Telstra (the 132200 number on their page) and was put through to the same area as had been sending the texts and phoning. They will confirm half your details but mostly they read out what they've got and ask if it's still accurate.
