Called today about a car accident I'd apparently had in the last 12 months. I told them that everyone in Australia knows it's a scam and that the federal police are investigating. Apparently she's taking me off their list. Hilarious.

When they cannot even get your name right, snap at you because you ask them what they want and then hang up when you tell them you have not been involved in an accident - then they are a scam - block the number

Same as above, British accent claiming to be from Esure Insurance and stating I had some money owing as a result of a minor traffic accident in the last 2½ years. Asked them to put it in writing and they declined, saying it would take only a few minutes so I hung up. Seems very unlikely a legitimate insurance company would be dealing with this type of subject over the phone.

I received a call today - lady with strong UK accent very hard to understand - said she was from follow up services and how was I after the accident!!! I just said what accident are you talking about and she said she couldn't tell me! So I replied I had not been in an accident was she referring to someone else in my family but still unable to tell me anything. She knew my first and last name somehow...Not impressed!

I received a call on my landline from (02) 8317 3159, would not give information, said they did not have to. Informed them I am Law graduate (which is true) and strangely they immediately disconnected. Received one today on mobile, but connection very poor so did not hear their spiel.

Bloody scammers, they asked for me by name so I told them I was a security officer with ASIO and they hung up right away. My advice is to do the same, or say you're a federal police office 🙂.

I had a call today from a guy with a heavy UK accent. Said he was from Liverpool in NSW. He had no idea. Same number as above. Bloody scammers need to be stopped

Despite my asking to be removed from their list when they called yesterday, they called again today. This is ridiculous and I cannot seem to block the number on my landline. I'm a shift worker and 2 days in a row now they have woken me up. I'm on the DO NOT CALL register but still they ring. Is there nothing we can do?

I use my answering machine to avoid calls such as these but this number comes up often.
Costs them $$ to do this, doesn't it?

This is a total scam. Caller asked if I had a motor vehicle accident in the past 3 years, I told them that would be very difficult as I don't have a licence and don't drive. As noted in many reports above, this time the accent was of Asian origin. Being on the "Do Not Call" registry does not appear to help. So many of us have been contacted by this scammer surely there is something that can be done.

This number has been calling for days so I finally answered. Had my name and asked about motor vehicle accidents in the last 3 years. I don't have a car.....never had one!! Total scam!

they have rung us up a few times but they had our details already they sent paper work out to us but we never sent it back

this number has called my house at least 20 times how can I stop this caller. Surely the phone companies can trace the caller. People are all suffering stress from all the scaming that is going on these days. No wonder people don't trust anyone now.

Received a call about a supposed motor vehicle accident in the last 3 years. Have been other callers in the past two days about same thing. All of Asian accent, repeatedly have asked them to take my name off their call list. Spoke to supervisor who refused to remove my number from their list unless I gave her details of where I worked. Used this number (02) 8317 3159 and mobile 0478 707 738. Have blocked both numbers.
