Called my mobile. Asked if I was xyz. I didn't confirm either way. Asked what it was regarding? They said 'personal banking matters', to which I replied 'please remove me from your call list' and hung up while they were still trying to have me confirm my identity. Dear oh dear....

This is Citibank. Well actually, it is an Offshore Call Centre using Virtual digital numbers. They are low level collection teams who get paid a few cents for making the calls. hence - they hang up at times and don't really care if they speak to you or not. get a bonus if they get a payment arrangement. Best thing is write to Citibank and tell them written communication only.

They have been ringing my mobile. I have no dealings with City Bank, nor Virgin. I can only assume this is a scam. Give no peronal details, just ask "what are you wearing" and insist on an answer.

They are all based in the Philippines and have their calls routed thru an Australian number. I simply ask them where are you located. Invariably they lie and tell you they are in Australia. When you press them further i.e address or ask some basic questions the truth comes out that they are in the Philippines. I tell them that I refuse to disclose any of my personal information to a foreigner as I cannot possibly know if I am dealing with a genuine contact or with a scammer. My contract is with Citibank Australia not Citibank Philippines. I have told them that if they have a problem that they are to send me an email to which I will respond. A scammer catching someone off guard and guessing a credit card company or by using a process of elimination can obtain your personal details by simply telling you that they have something important to discuss, however require you to confirm your name, address and date of birth.I tell them that they called me and if they don't know who they are speaking to then they should hang up.

Ring all the time, don't leave a message. Hate them. They're always very aggressive when they do get you on the phone.

Citibank, call 10 - 15 times a day - never leave a message. If you complain, they deny it.

citibank manage Virgin credit cards. they call incessantly when ur a couple of days late. how about sending an sms reminder before bill is due....or leave a message....or send a message via internet banking which generates an email to the customer prompting them to log in and check their account. theres 3 solutions off the top of my head that keep customers happy, bring in payments with less footwork and saves costs.
everyone should report to ombudsman then something will be done
