Listened to message left, very faint, couldn't hear or make out whether they were speaking English or not, in the message left. Believe that this is a scammer.

Genuine call from Citibank. I got a voicemail from the number asking to call back about a security issue with my Citibank account. Called Citibank directly instead who confirmed it was them.

i didn't answer but after looking at this site I rang the number on the back of my credit card and yes they had just tried to call me (at 7pm) because of suspicious activity. I blocked my card and was issued a new one. I am grateful to the posts on this site that advised doing that.

Caller: They claim they are from virgin credit card

Left a message asking me to call back.
Absolute stupid call.
Why do they waste everyone's time?
Some kind of prank or outright criminals.

A legit call, Citibank operates on behalf of lots of credit card brands so if you have a cr card or applied for one it will be them chasing up more info, or they want to tell you something or sell you some extra product like a loan.

I missed their call but this will be Citibank, calling on behalf of VirginMoney as I applied for a credit card from them. They usually call to follow up the application. I don't think its a scam as they have done this before.

They called to advise my card number had been hacked from a online merchants account and that they were cancelling my card and replacing it with a new card number.

I checked online after speaking with them and can confirm this was done. I never had to give out any information to them.

I received an automated call from this number regarding suspicious activity on my account. It left two numbers to call back. I called the number on my bank's website instead, went through until I could speak to an operator who confirmed that it was a legitimate call and it was regarding some stolen cc details. I suggest you don't ignore the call, but if you're worried, go through the public number on your bank's website to check.

Claiming to be from Citibank and that my card was ready to send but details needed to be confirmed.
I have never applied for a Citibank card, or any credit card for that matter.
I was told that I must have forgotten applying for it.
When I requested their details the line went dead.

guys I can confirm this number is legit call, they may sound like all other spam calls but this one is legit as I just placed an application with Citibank few days ago.

If you don't pick up the call, you may find that your credit card application declined.

Caller: Scam

Received a call on my mobile, and then immediately after on my work landline saying my credit card had a fraudulent transaction. I called back on 1300 550 216. I spoke to a person with a muffled but otherwise clear voice, and call centre background noise. He asked for my credit card details so he could clarify the nature of the fraud. I refused to give any information. I called my bank and they verified that the calls WERE NOT FROM THEM. This is a scam call.

Legitimate Call. They are a section of CitiBank that deal with the processing of applications for Qantas Money Credit Cards and other flavours that are backed by CitiBank.
