Caller: (02) 8027 2000 This sh*t has gone on long enough. Applied for credit card from Coles. five minutes l got a call from overseas call centre to verify all I had put in the application. Could not understand person and quality of call was hopeless. Transferred six times and they were just as bad, had to hang up. About time these useless bloody companies woke up, and if they want to use these frigging call centres get someone that can speak English, stupid bastards.

Caller: citibank acting for Virgin Money This is legitimate. Hard to hear them. Philipino and Indian call centres acting for Citibank. Most likely a credit card in another name like Coles or Virgin Money. Citibank manage a lot of those cards.

Caller: Citibank This one's legit - it was in regards to an application for a credit card (although their operation is kinda a bit disorganised and the staff are a bit hit and miss with their knowledge and service, so it had me wondering a few times)

This is definitely a scam. Caller left a voice message telling me to call (02) 8225 0615, which, when you look that up, is a scammer masquerading as Citibank.

Caller: Citibank Legitimate call from Citibank. Did not ask for any of my details other than to confirm my name and mailing address. They had the last 4 digits of my credit card, which was compromised as an online merchant that I bought from had been hacked.

Wanted to confirm details on my Coles Credit Card. Knew my name. Barely understandable due to a very heavy Indian accent . This call screams SCAM. I wouldn't trust the posts here saying the call is legitimate.

Caller: I didn't answer but called back- supposedly Citibank Received call from this number after receiving 6 sms Qpremier codes for something i was not purchasing. I didn't answer the subsequent phone calls. Called back. Supposedly Citibank but could be anyone; they transferred me to "fraud department" who asked for my phone number. I said i won't be giving anyone any info. The codes had already been deleted by myself. Never give anyone any codes sent to your phone, inc "fraud department", if they should ask you.

Caller: Citi Legitimate call - they advised card was part of a data breach. Without me giving any information, they had my full name, could tell me about my last few transactions, only asked if they could cancel and reissue the card, they confirmed my residential address, and asked if any fraudulent transactions. Almost certainly genuine.

Caller: (02) 8027 2000 I missed 3 calls from this number, no messages left. Eventually, I answered one & they claimed to be from my bank saying there had been suspicious activity on my card & it needed cancelling, with a new card to be sent to me, only to my home address. This has happened before so sounded legit. However, she could not tell me what or when the suspicious activity was so I checked my credit card transactions back 8 months & could not find anything suspicious. I will ph them back on a number that I have for them.

They did not leave a message. I called the number back and there was a recorded message saying they were busy… The interesting thing is, their recorded message did NOT STATE THE NAME OF THE BUSINESS/COMPANY. are thy scammers?

Caller: CitiBank Seemingly a legitimate number. I recently submitted an application for a credit card and they were just calling to complete a verification over the phone. I guess they just want to know who they are lending money to. But I acknowledge in some cases, maybe they get it wrong, or maybe they make it sound really suspicious.
