received a text message from this number stating that I had just purchased a Canon EOS camera for $2199.99 and if I have a dispute then to call the number. I suspect it is one of the Ebay scams that I have read about as the numbers are very close.

Caller: An indian scammer

DEFINATELY A SCAM!!! I thought it may be suspect based on the phone no. A text was received stating my Apple Mac purchase was successful with a ph no to dispute if required. Thinking it was a scam, I played the game. The indian gentleman then asked for my name (a fictitious one used) which I was asked to spell and clearly state. He then said my credit card had been used for the purchae but he could stop the transaction. He then asked which banks CC was used. I fictitiously stated ANZ. He said we know your credit card as it starts with xxxx (which all ANZ cards do) then asked me to confirm the rest of the card. At this point I was laughing so much that I had to ask him if I could place him on hold. After 10 mins I hung up. Im assuming that if I gave a correct CC no he then would have asked for the 3 digit no on the rear of the card for confirmation. He then would have a full recording of me stating my name, CC no and the numbers on the back. In summary, I would love to meet and greet him!!!

Caller: AMZ regarding fake Macbook Order

Received a text message stating:
"You paid *2099.99 for 'Macbook Pro (13-inch) M1' AMZ-order#182413518012 on 2021-04-19. Call Us (08) 7200 7080 If any dispute, Thank you"

I called from a different number that this text was sent to, and the call routed to a very noisy call centre and I don't know what language they were speaking. Most definitely scammy.

Got the same SMS - they knew my Amazon email account domain and said that they would need to change my password - they said to look in my email and i DID receive an email immediately from Amazon, but it was simply the email that they send you when any third party wants to update your password. This is a pretty good scam, because a lot of people would see that it was a standard Amazon email and so they would approve it. I said that I wouldn't so they hung up and have now blocked me from calling them. If you do allow them, they will have access to your account and you're screwed, so you should go in immediately and change it again and alert Amazon.
