Received call, when I answered they hung up, tried to call them back and they did not answer. Yes dealing with an accident issue at the moment so looked up this number and seen all of the messages. Thanks guys. Blocked on mobile and let partner know as well.

Asked if I had accident. Yes cause I did asked for my rego & asked for rego of other car etc. I'm worried now because I didn't realise it was a scam. I live on my own I'm very concerned now

My sister used my number to sign up for a scam and this guy new their birthday date and my birth year. When I accused them of calling a minor they started demanding why I was using a minor's name. Refused to say who they were no matter how many times I asked. Block them.

Received calls from same number about car accident. the strange thing is he/she knows my son's mobile!

Are the phone companies that useless that with hundreds of complaints they still let these people be connected to the nenwork. They are assisting scam artists and should be accountable.

Getting at least a call a day from this number, I am always at work, so cannot answer. Can I block this number.

Received a very odd text message from this number claiming they are going to call me in a few days time. Will copy and paste the message here, no idea where they would have gotten my number from though.

"This is a message from the Victorian Department of Education and Training. The Department is currently undertaking the Victorian Child Health and Wellbeing Survey, a telephone survey about health and wellbeing issues among Victorian children - that will be used to improve services in your community and across Victoria. The Social Research Centre will be calling this number in the coming days. Reply 3 to Opt Out. For more information visit www.srcentre.com.au/vchws or call SRC on 1800 023 040"

Have now blocked the number as I'm not interested.

Have received calls from this number 0488 827 896 since early August. Missed all until today, 16.08.2017, when he asked me if I was (my name).I answered Yes and then he said he was , I think, Michael from Road Care and asking me to confirm a report they had that I was involved in a vehicle accident today. I then said No.
I hope that it was not a voice biometrics recording that could be used to identify me or record me agreeing to some scam by using my voice saying Yes and No.

I have been receiving calls from this number every day for the last week. They hang up each time I answer. More annoying than anything, clearly a scam. I'm going to see if I can report the number to the ACMA or anyone else who will listen. I've saved the number to my contacts and saved it as Accident Phone Scam.

Just got called 0488 827 896 told them that I'm taking their number to the police and the Dept of transport, I was then asked why and said cause this is a F#@Ked scam then he asked why I was swearing REALLY WHY AM I SWEARING because I have a real job you low lifes

I'm am so sick and tired of this number ringing me and telling me that I was in a car accident, I ask when this was supposed to of happen and they hang up,
By seeing and reading how many complaints there are can't something be done about it.

We got the same today...knew our name, and said but being in accident and wanted to confirm address to send a check for compensation to us for about $50000..lol don't know where they get their info from...they had correct name, but wrong address..

I missed calls from this number and after googling it I discovered it was the accident scam line. I recorded the number as accident scam so was warned when I was finally able to answer it. The English accented bloke was persistent in repeating that details of bank accounts etc would not be asked for. This got my red flags flying as to what to expect next. After admitting to a recent accident the assured me that there was no further costs to be incurred by myself. Hmm, got me thinking as to them what was the point of the scam. Didn't take long to surmise after he continued questioning that they ask prompting questions to ascertain as to whether or not there were any passengers in the car. When I said no it was sole occupied at the time the response was that they had received misinformation. So, I concluded that if there was another occupant at the time and I was the driver then the next phone call would be claiming I owed money for injuries incurred to the passenger. Wish I had led it that far but instead they concluded the conversation but, not before I added to "go and scam someone else, you WANKER" before I hung up. Who knows, I may get another opportunity as they seem to change their number as it's the second time I've been contacted by this scam, from different numbers. Have some fun with them, lead them down a path so as to extract info the police could use. I'm guessing that eventually they will supply you with some form of banking details in which they expect one to transfer money. I knew from the beginning it was a scam as my car accident (in which one of my children had been involved in as the sole occupant) had been done and dusted by the insurance agency quite a few months prior to their persistent phone calls.

I am international student. it really ridiculous. He asked me about the accident. I told him I dont understand and I need interpreter because he talked so so fast. I will block it. wth is that?

Received a call from this number 9.35am 14/8.
I asked if it was a scam after being told by the caller he believed I had recently been in an accident. I said NO, what is your name, phone number and address. He then hung up.
The world is full of scum!!
