Definitely a scam they must have gotten in to my Paypal account and used that to try and get all my card details out of me..
They almost had me transfer 1000$ to my account so they could transfer it!
They somehow had commbank info too and sent me codes which I NEVER gave as the text from Netbank said DONT tell anyone this.. So mad they are the scum of the earth

Easy to check if legit, just log onto your paypal acct. Instructed that additional details were required on my acct. Logged onto paypal and there was indeed a notification to update some of my details. I believe this is a legit paypal notification, however I wouldn't ever supply details via txt.

Definitely a scamming number. The wording of the text message I received was not worded in a professional way and would definitely not be from PayPal.

I think this is a legit number being used in scams.

A very polite man rang from a different number ((03) 7076 1272 ) and said he was from PayPal and that there was suspicious activity on my account - I almost never use PayPal and don’t pay it a lot of attention, so that seemed possible. He was very careful to give me a lot of information- my name, my phone number (that he was calling on) and my email address. And he kept asking if I knew anyone in LA or the US and giving great detail about the amounts of money and the attempted fraudulent activity. And then he said that in order to cancel the account, he needed to send me something to allow them to cancel. That seemed odd, but ok. As part of that apparent cancellation, I received an sms from this number, which was a password reset code. And he asked me to read him the 6 digit number, which you should obviously NEVER DO.

So they have my name phone number and email address- I guess from some data breach somewhere - and then are hoping to fool me into allowing them to reset the password to my PayPal account.

So the text message from PayPal seems legit, but you should still ignore it if you didn’t ask for it to be sent and you should definitely not give that info to someone else!

Another 0485 872 975 SCAM gave me a security code and I could not get in wrong password again, so tried again another security code. My computer has been scammed blocked numbers among others 0485 989 209 , 0485 833 771, 0485 833 759, 1800 431 226, (02) 8552 1519, (02) 9160 0772 I HAD BEEN DEALING WITH PAYPAL DUE TO PROBLEMS $149 taken from my account. Tried to block my account. So these mongrels are using paypal with this number now, and I have been got again. The crown jewels will be no more. The hackers have been into my computer, told me what was going to happen, then i had 2 photos come up on my screen, the pc was fixed BUT NOT SURE ABOUT THAT. What gives mongrels the right to scam and hack if it happened to them it would be a different story.

Message telling me my security code for a paypal purchase. Pity I don't have a paypal account.

Answered the call and they pretended to be Paypal. Telling me I had purchased an Iphone. I told him to read out the contact details attached to the account to which he gave me an email that was not mine. Block this called. It is a scam.

I received a call originally from 0468 879 646 from a guy claiming to be from "Paypal" they went through their spiel of how they're monitoring my account & someone has tried to make a payment to "jane smith" over in America. They sent me a "one-time code" which came from this number and asked for me to read that number out loud to them, when I declined the caller got very angry at me. I hung up, called the real PayPal and was told: PayPal email you about your account, if they call it is rare and it is only when you have called them and specifically requested a callback and they call from a local NEBRASKAN number (not Australian). So have blocked number & reported it.

0468 822 769 had mobile and email address claiming to be from Pay Pal. Called Pay Pal and confirmed fraud.

Received a security code from this number right after I had a scam call from “PayPal” about a payment.
