Caller: BankSA This is a legitimate notification from BankSA. Do not ignore and call your bank just to be sure. Westpac owns St George and BankSA so maybe this number is shared across all of the Westpac owned banks.

Caller: it was an sms People, please don't fall for the fake posts on this website (or others like it). This is 100% a scam. Your bank does NOT send you text messages from a consumer mobile number like this. Furthermore, I received this message yet have no accounts with Westpac - I mean come on, how obvious can it be? If you do happen to have a Westpac account, and you haven't reported a suspicious transaction, then it should be clear as day that it's fraudulent. All these people want are your banking details so they can gain access to your account. If in doubt, CALL YOUR BANK on the number listed on its website, NOT the number in this egregiously fake text message.

Caller: Westpac Bank SMS Message from Westpac Bank, stating that a suspected fraudulent payment had been attempted. Checked bank statements and it was for an actual transaction - dollar amount and partial account number matched bank transactions, meaning the message was legitimate.

Caller: Westpac The text was legitimate. I was hesitant about messaging back so I rang Westpac who advised there had indeed been suspicious activity on my card and they had blocked my card. Don't listen to the goose saying its a hoax. It's not. If in doubt just ring Westpac and you'll find out. Easy.

Caller: Westpac The number is genuine. It's Westpac. Call 132032 if you have any doubt, as the text message looks highly suspect. Westpac should improve the way in which they send these texts as it really looks like a scam text.

Caller: Westpac - 0429 933 739 I had two text messages from this number today and called Westpac directly rather than responding to the message and it was 100% genuine. I had 9 transactions that had been blocked in the space of 5 minutes that I had not made. My credit card has been cancelled and I have been reissued a new one. In my case it was genuine but I am well aware that it can at times be a scam. If you receive this message and are unsure, call your bank immediately and have them look into it.

Caller: St George (also Westpac) Fraud squad sent a text message Caller: St George
It is definitely real. I also got the text msg about a card that I use regularly, used for an online purchase I had not made. I replied “no”, instant reply stated that a fraud investigator will contact me in the next 60 minutes, I also deliberately didn’t answer the call when the did ring and was left a voice mail where they stated they were from st george, my full name and asked me to contact them on the number on the back of my card. If they were not real they would not want you to ring the number on the back of the card. The fraud squad had blocked that transaction and put a temporary block on my card until I contacted them and confirmed that I wanted it replaced. Bottom line is that there was fraudulent activity - it was stopped in its tracks - and the card has been cancelled so you can trust this number. Great work St George!!

Hi I got a text sayng card had been used and to conform yes or no? Called Westpac on 132032 and text was real. Someone had tested my card with a $10 purchase first before trying to buy a scooter at Scooter Hut Melbourne for $1125. I would never have checked for the $10 transaction. So call your bank if you get the text.
