Had an identical message - she/he/it must copy and paste. She also sent a photo of her passport - should take that to the police. But what is she after?

bentheresa1234 @ hotmail.com messaged me this 'I am away at sea at the moment,i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kapo project. We do not have access to phone at the moment,its 5days off and 25days on. Where is it located at the moment?

I am buying it for my for my holiday and i want it delivered before my arrival.I won't be able to come for the inspection due to the nature of my work and i would have called but our calling is restricted.Regarding the payment,pls get back to me with your final asking price and your paypal details so i can process the payment,you can alternatively send your bsb and acct numbe.I have also contacted my courier who will come for pick up after the whole fund has been cleared into your acct.'

Yes. Just got scammed and lost money.
bentheresa1234 @ hotmail.com. States on an oilrig off NZ. Money transferred to China. I advertised a furniture item on Gumtree. Yes she has to be stopped. But is this person a he or a she? Lucky didn't send second lot of money. Paypal confirmed the form she displays if a fake. Give me 5 minutes with her....so angry and depressed and feeling so stupid and vulnerable. Have reported to Police. Has anyone else reported this scammer?

same here, within an hour of gumtree post sent me message requesting email instead of text as on NZ oil working. i sent the email (hope im ok) but then checked here as they asked for paypal details without even looking at items for sale

Same thing just happened to me. Received a text message from Theresa within a few hours of posting my Gumtree ad asking to email bentheresa1234 @ hotmail.com. Sent an email and got the same response regarding NZOG. Marked this as spam!

same here i posted some furniture in Gumtree and she texted me saying to communicate but email only as she is at sea working for NEw Zaeland Oils gas comapny wanting me to provide bank detail so that she can transfer and we can organise delivery I replied saying that it is very strange that someone would but a $1,300 dinig table witout inspecting and asking how is she thinking to organise delivery...sounded like a scam how can we report this? we should try and stop this scam....cheers

I received a msg from this number but it was the same email address janet4jesus06 @ gmail.com - same story about working for New Zealand Oil co. Then asked me to pay for the freight for the courier and she would add that the my asking amount for the furniture

This is the second time this bloke called Alex has responded to my gumtree listing , about 18 months apart!
I recognised the scam instantly !
The reason they want you to respond in email is so they can open up word on their computer and send responses ore loaded , ie the i rig story !
I worry for the non tech ppl that might be caught by this .
Geez this sh*ts me!

Thank you for the heads up. I got a text message from this number within a few hours of putting some furniture up on Gumtree for sale. Asked for me to correspond via email to janet4jesus06 @ gmail.com. I didn't reply - gut instinct told me it was dodgy. Thanks for posting.
