I posted furniture on gum tree decided the response sounded to easy so Googled name thanks everyone for posting this scam

Thanks a lot for the email. I am away at sea at the moment,i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kapo project. We do not have access to phone at the moment,its 5days off and 25days on,which is why I contacted you with internet messaging facility. Where is it located at the moment?

I am buying it for my for my holiday and i want it delivered before my arrival.I won't be able to come for the inspection due to the nature of my work and i would have called but our calling is restricted.Regarding the payment,pls get back to me with your final asking price and your paypal details so i can process the payment,you can alternatively send your bsb and acct number if you have no paypal acct.I have also contacted my courier who will come for pick up after the whole fund has been cleared into your acct.

Tried same scam on me via Gumtree.
Working offshore for NZ Oil and Gas.. She will transfer funds including shipping fees but i need to transfer shipping fees to her shipping agent in China via Western Union before funds for furniture are released to me via PayPal.
Beware she is a scammer using fake PayPal emails!

same scam- get an SMS to only click the email address; wanting to buy all the furniture i had on Gumtree- they are aware but what can they do. It's a scam by arsholes.

Email from Benson Theresa, coincidently also a call of silence from ‭0439 588 830‬. Then a little later an email......

I just got the same message for items I have for sale on gumtree. I thought it was a bit odd she wanted to buy all the furniture I had for sale. Googled her name and came up with this site.

omg i posted something online and that's exactly what she wrote to me. scam.

Just got an email yesterday from Theresa Benson on Gumtree using exactly the same message. Sounded strange, luckily I did a quick google search! Will report to Gumtree for what it's worth.

Just been dealing with the same email exactly the same story. Do not trust this person!!

“Theresa” texted me almost immediately after I posted a furniture ad on gumtree. The text said “ Is the Furniture items on Gumtree still available for sale? kindly reply to (bentheresa1234 @ hotmail.com) plz no text.” I’ve had someone use text msg to try scam coming from gumtree before so my initial reply was “reply via gumtree ad”. Then I got suspicious and googled her email which led me to the thread here. No communication was ever sent through gumtree and the phone number automatically shows as “Theresa” with no access to the number the text message is sent from. Idiots.

Just received a message from Theresa re: my furniture add on Gumtree. Same message as above. Thanks for posting. I thought i’d do a quick google before I respond..🙏🏽

Can she not be blocked ?

Yep - was contacted on gumtree with exactly the same wording. Thought i'd check online as it all seemed a bit suss - and here we are.
I reported them to gumtree but their system didn't allow you to say what the issue was.
