I picked up call from (03) 9340 8197 without saying anything and a masculine voice with heavy Indian accent said my name and I know you are there and then said some gibberish before hanging up.

This number started calling me tonight. Twice now. I haven’t picked up. Thanks for the heads up👍

Call answered and a man said he was calling because I was eligible for a Victorian Government initiative for (I think) electricity (it was a bit hard to hear due to the background noise - very much sounded like a busy call centre, but also the man had a decently thick accent so some words were hard to hear).
He asked to confirm whether I lived in 3020… when I said no, he asked to me to confirm my correct postcode as he would check to see if I was still eligible - when I told him I don’t even live in Victoria, he was quite happy to quickly wrap up the call. I told him that if he was going to try to scam people he needs to at least try to get his information correct before he does - he tried to rebut this and say he wasn’t a scammer (standard response) but I just hung up.

Be very wary with calls like this because while not all may be scammers, the vast likelihood is that they are - so don’t get them your details, not even your real name!!

continues to call around 7pm he does give up. Please someone make him stop

Some guy with a sub-continent accent called me though I couldn't work out where he said he was from, but he was touting some Victorian Government initiative that I was apparently eligible for and they would be in my suburb tomorrow.
When I told him I don't live in Victoria he hung up very quickly.

Had another one yesterday on my phone with "this video has your face in it I just deleted without opening.

Don’t waste your time answering this number. Didn’t answer first time, no msg left. Second time a hour later I answered. There was a delay the Sub continent Jabber I went click and blocked the number. I suggest anyone else does the same

Called (03) 9340 8197 on my Landline VOIP (silent number) numerous times over different days over several weeks and always busy signal every time. Not game to call via mobile, so I'll call it a 'Spamer'.

Have had multiple calls from this number .calling from Calcutta. Asked him for his grandmothers best curry and recipe and told him I’m a have a desire to become a part time snake charmer . I asked if he knew anyone in Australia who could sell me a 6 foot cobra and a little cane basket to carry it around in . After I said I would pay him in bitcoin . He hung up . 😁👍

Have had two calls from this number this morning. Haven't picked up and no message left. Will now block having read all these comments!

Number unknown to me. I answered but didn't speak. Neither did the caller. After a second or two they hung up.
Looks pretty much like another pest.

The number said it was coming from Dunolly Nsw 🤬
Reverse search said it’s melb vic.

Why does the gov let this happen?
