Scam.block number. Done

Caller: Guy from call center pretending to work for Gov

A guy with a heavy Indian accent pretending to call on behalf of the Victorian government. apparently, am eligible for some kind of unit that reads energy usage of home devices. I didn't tell him that I don't live in Victoria and went along with it. I asked how the unit works and got the lamest answer. I wanted to find out how this scam works, and why are they using this scheme. But he eventually hanged up on me.

Scammer that keeps ringing, have now blocked the number after reading these comments

I received the same call last week so they are still going. Told them to take my name off and never call again

Guys I have an issue, I think my partner accidentally gave the woman our address.
Is there any way to stop the scammer? I'm abit paranoid now.

Just got a call from the same (03) 9340 8197 number showing from Victoria. They hung up as I picked up. Very happy to be able to quickly find details about it online.

Someone trying to arrange electrical monitor through my smart meter & want to arrange an installation time.
Told them to call my land lord..

These mother f*ckers are calling outside legal hours. 715pm on a Saturday night. Like seriously, piss off!!

Something about government energy. I hung up. Pests.

Informed me that as per the government initiative I was eligible for security cameras to be installed and they were going to be in my area tomorrow. I'm sick to death of unsolicited phone calls. It doesn't matter how many you block, they just keep calling. I normally don't answer numbers I don't recognise but I'm expecting calls for other reasons so I picked up this one. I couldn't even be bothered responding so I just hung up and blocked. I wish they would get a real fecking job.

Answered and there was a lag before an Indian started talking and I just said not interested. They rang back an hour later and I told them to P***Off and blocked the number.

Had a call from this number just 10 minutes ago, he asked to speak to me by name, but I am very wary of any indian accent, and told him he had the wrong number and the wrong name. He then started on about some Victorian Govt initiative, so I told him I live in Western Australia, and he hung up.

Woman with Indian accent - wouldn’t say where she was calling from. Number I don’t know so hung up on her. If I don’t know the number calling I assume a scam and block the number. So many numbers blocked - so many scammers out there!
