Proposing installation of some free electricity device. When asked if he had checked the Do Not Call register he said ‘the what’. I explained and said he would be reported and blocked. He immediately hung up

Caller was a woman and told me I was eligible for a gov rebate on my mortgage and wanted my personal details to see if I was eligible. I told them I was waiting for a doctor to call and they wrapped up on me really quickly.

I picked up thinking it was someone I was waiting for a call back from. Indian accent, said he was from MyGov. I said who? He repeated and I said who? He hung up. Number blocked

I have had other calls that show up as Melbourne so finally answered it.
An Indian spoken man said he was ringing on behalf of the government.
Said they were fitting electrical items and could he book an appointment tomorrow at 6pm for the electrician.
I said no. He said but it is free and continued to try and get me to accept the appointment.
I told him I don’t have electricity.
He hung up straight away. (I live totally off the grid).

Indian guy with a very strong accent and noisy background called me wanting to book a time to come to my property for some Victorian Government initiative. He wouldn't provide information on what this initiative was but wanted me to provide my personal details. I told him i wasn't interested and ended the call. He called back about 10 minutes later and i hung up and blocked the number. So far in the last 5 days i have had 19 calls to my mobile from this blocked number!!

Very hard to understand but this mob is installing in home displays on electricity metres under the vic state gov initiative. It checks out online but they are very pushy. Scam like behaviour. He thought i said ok to them coming to install the next morning. He said ok the electrician will give you a call 30 mins beforehand and was about to hang up. I said hang on mate, i didnt agree to this and by the way do you have my address? He correctly quoted my full name, mobile number and address! I did not give him any of these details. Looks like they might be legit but just going about it the wrong way, not interested.

Didnt answr call and callee left a message just saying "hi S.. " knew my first name. He had an indian accent. Have blocked the number.. would like to know how he knew my first name..

Called multiple times throughout the day. Eventually answered at 8pm. Guy with a heavy Indian accent said my name and started telling me he was going to put a electricity reading home unit device on tomorrow. More worried about how they knew my name and number.

2 calls from the same number within half an hour. Say they're calling about a Government initiative. Heavy Indian accents. Told first one, not interested. Second one thought he could do better. He couldn't. I'm at the point now where I will speak to NOBODY if they have an Indian accent. Number blocked.

Same details as above a very pushy Indian man with extremely heavy accent trying to push an “Australian Government Electricity Initiative” I told him I was not interested but he kept on telling me that that’d be at my house tomorrow and what time was I going to be home. He was very pushy and I hung up.
I do feel for vulnerable people who are pestered by this man and who are falling for this scam. A couple of weeks later the same number called again and I didn’t answer nor did he leave a message.

Scammer calling to say I am eligible for a government device to sit on my power metre so that i can monitor usage with my smart phone.i said no thanks about 3 times and he got more aggressive saying it's a law and there's no choice but for them to install. End of call was "okay bye thank you darling" - government my ass...
