I called back the number (03) 8613 9353 and reached vm that said I reached AGL Energy They know my name and keep asking me to confirm my address and other details to confirm my energy bill. I dont want to give any details and they keep saying they just need 2 min to discuss my bill but wont tell me what exactly it is without me confirming my personal information. I checked my AGL account, i dont owe anything..... wth i checked with AGL (using their chat function) and they confiormed that this is NOT their number. Thus this is a SCAM! Caller: AGL
it was AGL. I just don't know why they don't leave you a voice mail saying they called. It's so annoying.
Chasing overdue bills, even if you have paid or you have payment plans.
The moment a bill is past due it seems to go to a debt collection team, sometimes outsourced.
They have many different but similar numbers sometimes auto-dialing from outside Australia so the number or caller seems like a scam.
I have had a bill go a few days overdue, then I paid it, but then had their debt collection people calling be 3 times a day for about a week and a half. Was told "Sorry, sometimes there are delays in our records being updated from AGL's.."
Which is why it seems that they outsource some of this...
Rang back. Really rude AGL agent.
Couldn’t be bothered confirming details or getting into call after how rude the were
AGL Chasing money lol Caller: ALG Energy
ALG Energy wanting the account paid
Caller: Unknown person , ready to give me there employees number
Keep getting these calls love playing with them , try it as a form of de-stressing, have made up names ready and see how correct their information about you is 😝 🤣
Aggressive Filipino call centre chasing up 2 day overdue AGL account . Why doesn’t AGL not send follow up overdue email ? Time to switch suppliers that can communicate better. It's a scam...
These scammers know that alot of people go away on the xmas/new year holidays and that's also when gas and electrical bills are issued, meaning that by the time people come back home, there's unpaid bills sitting there waiting for them.
Scammers take this opportunity to call people to gather personal details and/or harass them for money due to the high percentage of people who would genuinely be running late on their bills.
The actual utility companies know that people will be late with their bills on the new year, they aren't going to ring millions of customers who are a week or two late on their bills...
my phone rings, i answer it , and they dont reply straight away, sounds like they are calling from an o/s call centra. I said my name 2 times, then i put my phone down and i heard " if you dont speak now i will end the call... by the time i picked the phone up, they hung up. quite annoying. When i picked up they hang up Caller: AGL scam
Called me many times since July 2020. When asking for my details I refused to give it to them and asked what they were calling about. She got angry with me when I told her I was aware this was a scam.
This is not AGL - I checked , it is a SCAM Thank you for confirming. I told him "I'm not talking to you" and hung up. He hasn't called me back but I"ll be blocking that number. Caller: Said they were from AGL
Wanted me to confirm my address but when I asked them to tell me the address they had on file and told them I wasn't prepared to give my address because they had called me they hung up.
I received a call from them on Tuesday 30 June. The lady wanted to confirm my details. I said that I wouldn't confirm as she was calling from an unknown number and I didn't trust it. She started to get agitated and repeatedly asked me to confirm my details. When I said that I refused she said that I needed to be prepared for constant calls until I confirmed the details. My account was overdue, so I assumed that was what she was calling about, but I wasn't about to give her my details. I just called AGL and the lady I spoke to confirmed that it was a 'legit' number and they were calling on behalf of AGL. However, she acknowledged that she wouldn't have given her details to anyone from an unknown number either. She has received a lot of complaints regarding the number. Caller: AGL (03) 8613 9353
Asked to speak to me by name. Then stated that note 'this call is being recorded for training purposes.' Then asked me to confirm my address for privacy reasons. I refused and asked what the purpose of the call was. She said she couldnt tell me until I confirmed my address. I explained to her that there is no privacy issue with telling me the purpose of the call. She insisted that her training didnt allow this. I asked if this was a scam. She stated it wasnt and happy for me to call the number to confirm. I told her that as they were 'recording this for training purposes' they may want to review their processes to tell people what the purpose of the call is. Its a scam.
The number (03) 9613 9353 have phoned my business number on numerous occasions and they do not speak if I answer, they also leave breathing messages on the answer service and they do not leave messages either. I phoned it back and it said AGL, but then AGL are asking for feedback on calls that were not made. So I do not know what to make of it. AGL already knows I ONLY communicate via mail with them, so I am unsure as to why they are phoning, if this is in fact them. If they do not stop, I will take it to the ombudsman.
