Caller: They say they are AGL

I'd say this is a scam. They keep ringing and ask me to provide all my details so they can verify me. I refuse to give them any unless they can confirm they are AGL either via email or text message, which they can't do. I finally asked to speak to a manager and was put on hold (without hold music) for around 20 minutes and then the line went dead.

Caller: Said they were from AGL

Said it was for marketing. Wouldn't give any other information unless bank account and AGL account details were given first.
Refused to give details (of course) and ended call.

Wanted me fo confirm my details but refused to told me anything about the calling, many times a day.

Already blocked the number.

Called me many times since July 2020. When asking for my details I refused to give it to them and asked what they were calling about. She got angry with me when I told her I was aware this was a scam.

This is not AGL - I checked , it is a SCAM

Thank you for confirming. I told him "I'm not talking to you" and hung up. He hasn't called me back but I"ll be blocking that number.

Caller: Said they were from AGL

Wanted me to confirm my address but when I asked them to tell me the address they had on file and told them I wasn't prepared to give my address because they had called me they hung up.

I received a call from them on Tuesday 30 June. The lady wanted to confirm my details. I said that I wouldn't confirm as she was calling from an unknown number and I didn't trust it. She started to get agitated and repeatedly asked me to confirm my details. When I said that I refused she said that I needed to be prepared for constant calls until I confirmed the details. My account was overdue, so I assumed that was what she was calling about, but I wasn't about to give her my details. I just called AGL and the lady I spoke to confirmed that it was a 'legit' number and they were calling on behalf of AGL. However, she acknowledged that she wouldn't have given her details to anyone from an unknown number either. She has received a lot of complaints regarding the number.

Asked to speak to me by name. Then stated that note 'this call is being recorded for training purposes.' Then asked me to confirm my address for privacy reasons. I refused and asked what the purpose of the call was. She said she couldnt tell me until I confirmed my address. I explained to her that there is no privacy issue with telling me the purpose of the call. She insisted that her training didnt allow this. I asked if this was a scam. She stated it wasnt and happy for me to call the number to confirm. I told her that as they were 'recording this for training purposes' they may want to review their processes to tell people what the purpose of the call is. Its a scam.

The number (03) 9613 9353 have phoned my business number on numerous occasions and they do not speak if I answer, they also leave breathing messages on the answer service and they do not leave messages either. I phoned it back and it said AGL, but then AGL are asking for feedback on calls that were not made. So I do not know what to make of it. AGL already knows I ONLY communicate via mail with them, so I am unsure as to why they are phoning, if this is in fact them. If they do not stop, I will take it to the ombudsman.

Caller says that they are agl contaction about account first couple of times after confirming address they say my account is fine must be a mistake and hangup every time since i have been angry and not given details and they have hung up after vairying amounts of time scam as my agl account has always been paid on time

said they wanted to verify my details. Sounded legit. When I queried how I can ensure they are the ATO, they hung up...

This Victorian-prefixed number called my mobile phone, but I missed the call. No message was left on my phone. I used my home line to call the number back and got a recorded message saying it was AGL. I used this site to check where the number is allocated to and if other people have received calls from it.
I have just rung AGL Australia's customer service '13' number and AGL confirmed it is NOT them.

This is a SCAM.

it depends on where the location of the call is coming from
normally scammers do personate legit companies and they will tend to sound serious when they call you if you are 100% not a costumer to this company or you are 100% sure you are fine then its a scam i suggest you ring up the legit Company and infrom them they have scammers targeting them

They've been calling my number and they said that I owed AGL $1013.00 of energy bill and another bill is coming soon. I said to them bad luck I am not with AGL, I'm with origin. The caller said maybe it is from your other property and I insisted for the address of that property and they gave the right one. They almost got me, but I said to the caller that I will call my agent about this. The caller said, well if you do not pay now it will affect your credit rating. I called my agent and she said, rental property energy bills shouldn't be in our name. What a scam these people are.

Claimed it was AGL but is a scam. Hung up on me when I wouldn't answer questions.

Caller: Energy Scammers

I have gotten this number before. They start off with asking all about your details. This way they change you from you current provider to another without informing you ahead of time. I know, I was scammed! I quickly went on twitter and threatened them with the obudsman and they quickly contacted me to deleted my "contract". Block this number now! I just got a call from them again.
