Caller: Scammer named “Mark” from EBay

As above! EBay / ITunes card scam.
The lack of quality in the recording immediately made me aware this was a scam. The lack of professionalism when I called back confirmed this but I had some free time so I played them back! Love scamming a scammer! I pretended to believe & want to co-operate but also pretended to be confused and slow at following his instructions - I lead him down a 30 minute convoluted conversation during which he was forever hopeful that he was getting closer to extracting my bank details and asked several times what the balance was. When he became frustrated at one point, he said “I know your address!” Which was obviously threatening. Most chilling was how very patient and persuasive he was - very dangerous for vulnerable people! In the end I hung up & he called back twice. At least it was 30 minutes he wasn’t succeeding in scamming someone else. Reported in detail with all 3 numbers they used to ACCC Scamwatch.

Received a call today, automated message saying my account was going to be debited by ebay unless I return their call. Seems to be definitely a scam!

Same as above. I can’t believe after so many thousands of scams still there is no data protection. Our identity stolen & no consequences for these companies!

Caller: Didn't receive a call

Didn't receive a call but got an email from a Gmail account. The email was rying to look like an invoice from McAfee for anti-virus software. The number to call was (03) 5294 0147.
Called the number twice but timed out both times.

ok this message came through to me on (07) 3040 9887 & to call (03) 5294 0137. recorded female voice, same as all others but the message was halfway through the spiel so did not hear it all until I read the other comments. I will block it now but it was a computer generate number, they will call back, I never pick up unknown numbers so I will register as a miss & it will slow down the number of calls I get...

I’ve been getting calls everyday for over a week stating they are debiting $299 from my account, I hang up each time and the calls still come through daily. Very annoying.

Same as others - Caller said they were from Ebay and had repeated calls to buy something for $299.99 and to call back or press "1" now otherwise the amount would be deducted from my account. Calls and /or emails every day from scammers. They need to be traced and dealt with.
