Caller: It IS NBN, but not as you know it They aren't scammers, but they might as well be.
Grossly ignorant and incompetent. Why NBN subcontracts work to these clowns is beyond me.
There is a long story behind my situation, but I'll save you the essay.
In a nutshell, it's best not to waste any of your time speaking to them.

Caller: NBN NOT A SCAM!! Don't let these review scare you! Yes it is an Indian call centre but legit connected to NBN. Didn't ask me to confirm any personal information other than NBN order number and just wanted to confirm if I had received my NBN box and that a technician would be visiting at the time set up with my provider. Asked a few questions to confirm that I had permission from my landlord and strata.

Caller: NBN This call is legit from the NBN. The audio quality is very bad, pathetic coming from the national NBN... But it's an overseas call centre which I assume they outsource to a separate company.
The NBN is the worst company going around - nothing ever works, changing addresses is like having your cavity searched by a person with large hands.

Caller: Nbn call centre Got a missed call from this number. When I gave the address lady was able to look up appointment date and time for NBN technician given by Optus.
Their process of gathering info in preparation for tech to come onsite

Caller: NBN It's all legit. They are indian/foreign customer service reps, but it is for the NBN. They are the "pre-appointment" consultation people, who ring to confirm your appointment, or do pre-appointment checks (check if your device is set up correctly or to see if they can fix the problem over the phone prior to nbn techs coming out). They've called everytime I have an appointment and I've never had any reason to suspect anything suspicious?

I had missed calls from this number, shortly followed by follow up text messages regarding NBN installation, I had recently signed up to an NBN internet plan with aussie broadband and had been shipped an NTD device in the post which I set up and was using myself just fine, I read all the reviews here and assumed the calls were scammers so never answered them so never found out if they were indeed legit or not, but the status of my nbn installation remained in limbo not proceeding to 'completed' and when I asked aussie broadband about these missed calls and messages they confirmed that NBN had tried to get in touch with me to facilitate 'remote activation' of my service and so it must have been legit, I guess as a result of my not answering their calls my service ticket got escalated to where they ended up sending a techie over to do the install, they've just come and gone and swapped my ntd box for another new one and now I've just gotten a text claiming my nbn installation is now completed.
So I guess my advice would be to not ignore these calls, but still keep your wits about you!

Got 3 calls from this number after text message from "NBN Install" to be available for pre installation checks. Messages left intellibible and call back said number not available. Called my internet service provider (Not optic like other report) who had no record of NBN Co needing to get in touch and advised me text and phone calls were spam. My worry is only my internet provider knew I was changing to NBN and had my mobile number. I suspected this was a data leak at either NBN Co or Internet service provider level. Internet provider helpline took details and advised I report to Scam Watch. Take home message - NEVER answer even expected calls and always ring back on main number. Only this habit saved me from being trapped by this.

Big scam, pretending to be from the NBN. Wanting to confirm my appointment. I hung up on them.
If you go to the NBN website you'll see that they clearly state they will never call you to confirm an appointment.

Caller: Claims to be NBN Call at 6.30pm from lady with an Indian accent from NBN working with (long pause while she checks which provider I'm with) ...Telstra. She was giving me a courtesy call to help get my internet working over the phone. I did have an upcoming appointment with Telstra to connect to NBN, which had already been confirmed. Not sure how she was expecting to get my internet working over the phone when hardware not yet installed.

Caller: Not NBN Told me they were calling me to see whether they could set up my NBN connection over the phone, despite NBN and my ISP both confirming that this was not possible.
They knew the day, time and address of my upcoming NBN appointment but did not know the suburb or postcode (details already provided to my ISP and NBN) and tried to get me to confirm.
Said that my ISP had requested they call. I asked who my ISP was and they said Dodo (which it is not).
Clearly a spam call, should not be trusted with any information.

Caller: NBN genuine call Don't be silly guys, it's NBN scheduling or re-scheduling an appointment. They had the right info and didn't ask anything personal. I applied for an NBN connection with dodo, they sell and outsource the service to NBN. Then NBN sends a contactor to your house to make a connection. Same for Optus and other providers, don't listen the the comment from Anonymous on 24 sept 2020 >> ignorant 🤦 The call comes from overseas, strong accent and poor connection but 100% genuine.
