It sounded like a scam caller and I am very cautious however after them calling a few times, I answered.
Thank goodness I did as it was definitely NBN offering me an earlier tech appointment so I was reconnected days earlier than scheduled!

Called twice left voicemail offering to change my appt to earlier day. I didn’t respond as the accent was very hard to understand.
May in fact be from nbnco but suspiciously the number left to call back was a 1300 # and I only understood some numbers.
The contact number on nbnco website is a 1800 #.
As I’m not interested in changing date/time of nbn tech appt I won’t be calling them back.

Received calls from both the 3253 and 3254 numbers which I missed - and no message was left. When I called back both numbers "are not connected". Smells like a scam to me and definately NOT a legit NBN call (which I am also waiting on to replace my NBN box which got fried in the last storm).

Genuine call. I missed and dialled the number straight back.
They didn't ask for anything person, just my name and service provider name, to verify they had the right information.
Confirmed my appointment.
Lovely customer service

They say they are from nbn but located in India. When I rang they knew all about my appointment and said I had a case manager who was supposed to call me back but never did. Girl I spoke to could not help me with my problem (technicians not turning up and not letting me know). If this really is nbn, they have the most appalling customer sevice. A reflection on the government?

This is the NBN. It is the NBN calling instead of my ISP because there have been problems getting the NBN connection right. The call was to arrange for an NBN technician from the remedial team to come and hopefully fix the problem.

Legit call from NBN arranging an appointment to connect my NBN. This was confirmed by my internet provider.

Seems legit - I've already had a text a couple of days ago to advise tech would be here on 25th Jan. Today's caller had my address, state, postcode etc, plus the appointment time and my provider name. They just wanted to confirm some details about the property layout, permission from landlord, access etc. Didn't have to provide any personal data other than suburb for the address (it's unique - they could figure it out anyway) and an alternate contact number which I declined to provide

This is definitely legit NBN, call was expected. They were organising a technician to fix a line fault. But whoever is on the other end hardly knows how to operate a telephone.

They are legit, I have NBN with Telstra, the service is currently down and a Technician has been arranged via Tesltra. They (NBNCo) rang just to confirm the appointment date.
Don't let the Indian call centre worry you about SPAM callers, all company call centres are now located in India.

I don’t know if it was a scammer or not as they wouldn’t talk. It was like dining the Mrs on a Saturday night to come collect me.

Be aware. This is a scam number and those defending this number must be either scammed without knowing, or scammers themselves. I got the calls from this number so many times and threatened me to upgrade my NBN to 5G (by installing a new socket), otherwise the internet would be cut off in 7 days. Somehow they got all my personal details, which was super weird. I called my internet provider and they told me there was so such thing and I should report this number. I don't know why they want to install a new socket, but it is super fishy. To those who got their service, if all of your internet connection goes through a dodgy device, they can get your all data (if not encrypted) and if you have a home phone, they can intercept it, so be aware

Don’t give out any personal information like full name DOB Address! I’ve already texted back to confirm the appointment! And today an Indian accent guy called me saying he has to confirm and instead of asking if I’m xx, they requested me to provide my name and address! How ridiculous! If you are from NBN, you should have all my details!

Cool the paranoia guys! It's the company that manages NBN appointments for technicians. Your service provider does not connect you to the NBN or do service calls, NBN techies do that. The network monitoring detected a fault on my Telstra box, switched it to mobile and arranged for a techie. The caller was just calling to confirm that I was OK with the time. Yes he was Indian and yes he called from a call centre. I could hear very clearly what he was saying. It's the 21st century-that's what happens.

This is NOT a scam caller. It is NBN. I had an engineer booked for two days and they were offering me an earlier appointment. He had all my details and did not ask for anything, other than if it would be convenient to bring the appointment forwards. I said it wasn't and he thanked me and said he would leave it as arranged.

This is a legit call. It's NBN confirming connection appointments if you've organised yr connection thru a provider. They organise a date/time to connect to your dwelling. You will also get SMSs from the tech advising his arrival and maybe even a reschedule if needed.
