Caller: Someone claiming to be from Google Maps

They wanted to check our opening hours. I asked 3 times before he said where he was from. I hung up as he sounded like a creep.

We often get calls from this number but this time no one spoke.

Just got a call from (02) 9160 9443 said it was Google Maps wanting to update our trading hours, when I said they were already updated on google maps he said "oh gotcha!" then hung up. It wasn't an automated service. I still think it's some sort of information gathering scam as I'm pretty sure that Google itself would not be employing people for a function like this. I also thought - ah - I think "I gotcha back" haha!

since when does an automated service say "um"?????

this is a real number, after i answered the trading hours, it got changed on our website, as it changed from 5pm to 5:30. we needed to change it back.

just received call from this number and asked our business hours. i wonder why Google cares and it should be up to every individual business to update it on the Google. sounds like half human half AI.

called the business landline for the company I work for. Asked about confirming our opening hours. I said "Sorry thats not up to me to confirm " and ended the call . I work for a company that would update our company website regularly so what google said may not be correct but not my problem.

This is a robocall. Hang up and don't give any numeric details if you do engage

Had a call from this number today. American accent robocall asking for my business opening and closing hours. I said no I won't tell him that as we update the hours ourselves. He replied, "it's like that huh" and then hung up! Very strange!

Frequently get calls from people reporting to be from Google Maps, often really rude, demanding I tell them my hours, this time they hung up when I said I would like to ask a question first. I have had problems with ?Google changing my opening hours, also they have put permanently closed on my site even though I have never closed, can't seem to find anyone/anywhere to correct this, so not sure if these are all hoax calls or not.

Legit call but automated voice speaking. Phone number is on official google site. Will not understand complex answers or questions as it is a robot

It seems these callers are trying to get our voice samples as the moment I asked him for which business you are trying to confirm hours, he started auto message about privacy etc....

Someone calling regards to google map update and he repeatedly asked if we were open 7 days a week. When I answered we are not open during the weekend and he again asked if we open on Sunday.

Same gave crap about updating opening ours of my business. I has something similar some months ago and I answered a question. Next day my number was being used in a scam threat to take legal action against the receiver of the call

Start by saying: Heeeeyyyy - sounds asian - then alleges he is from google maps and the call is being recorded. Speaks very quickly saying he wants to update your opening hours.
Just hang up.

He sounded Asian, saying he was from Google Maps and wanted to update our business hours as they are incorrect, he asked me to confirm what they are. I told him to google it as it was already correct on our search result from Google.
