Caller: Said they were from Google Maps but this is not true.

Just data collecting.
I work with GMB (Google My Business) as part of my business activities. I knew he was fake from the outset. They would never call and identify themselves as Google Maps.
He started by asking me about my hours. After he gained my confidence, I guess he intended to ask for more confidential details.

Caller: Google

Pretended to be from Google Maps verifying business hours. When I stated we update this information ourselves, he promptly hung up. Scam call.

Caller: someone said from Google maps

Someone said from Google maps and forcibly to asking for the business hours and repeatedly asking if it is open on weekends.

Thought it was a real person. He asked about getting new hours of my workplace and I said that I was new here which is technically true but then he immediately was like "Oh.. okay I'll call back another time then"

Caller: google automated assistant

As realistic as the dude is on the other end of the call it is an automated system. I kept him on the line by asking him questions about whether he is automated or a real person and he got caught up in a siri loop. Geez he sounds so real.

Robocall. Sounded like a real person but it was actually a recorded person's voice.

Asked our business hours. I said we are in a lockdown, hours are unpredictable at the moment. Bit annoying when you realise it is not a real person.

Same here, I just had a person say they were calling from google maps, and asked me what my business hours were. I told him I update them myself, then he said "oh OK" and hung up!

I gave them our operating hours, hope it has no bad consequences.

Our business has had several calls from this Robo Caller. Most of the times they just hang up before we can even answer the call. Have spoken to them once recently and like past reviews i have read they cannot understand what we say! I feel like saying its none of your business so what are your hours on google?

Yep a scammer. Ask my business open hours, i continually asked who he was and where from, and he said i am an automated voice call. Ye right....

Guy said he was an automated service. Sounded real to me as he answered my question. Thought it was a scam and asked him why he needed information about our business hours for Google Maps. He didn't want to discuss anything further and hung up.

Received a call this afternoon from (02) 9160 9443 - Noted from Google Maps and asking for updating the local business hours.
Sounded fishy - So I ask him his name and he repeated to quote from Automated Google Maps, he could not verify his own blooming name.
Don't trust this number (02) 9160 9443.

A scammer saying they are from googlemaps trying to get information from me. very suspicious

American accent, claimed to be from Google businesses, wanted to know our business hours.
Told him it was already there, he quickly ended the call
