i just had the same thing. When i mentioned we update this info ourselves he very quickly ended the convo and hung up. I tried getting him to stay on the line to figure out WHY he was asking this but he just ended it

i called back... its from google maps the autosystem says

Sounded like a real person but was apparently a robo call from Google Maps, it asked me what my business hours were and I said them but nothing more was said. That number is on this Google My Business help page see https://support.google.com/business/answer/7690269

possible scam call of some sort? not sure.

Received call to my place of work, man saying its Google Maps and this is an automated service and wanting to know business hours. I said I would have to put the call through to the owner, got 'okay' and then asked for a name...kept repeating this is an automated service from Google Maps etc each time I asked for a name. I said that for an automated service it sounded awfully like a human person. Then I hung up.

Someone from Google, sounded like an obvious telemarketer...they said they were updating the business hours and wanted me to confirm, as i was in the middle of giving him the information he asked for he interrupted me and said "We just needed the details for this phone number, thank you and have a good day" and hung up on me, he didn't even get all the information he asked for cause he interrupted and hung up!

Said he was from Google wanting to update our hours. I asked him to tell me what hours he had on record for us and I would confirm if they were correct and he said he didn't understand and would I just answer the question. Back and forth like that for a while then he said he couldn't understand me and hung up! When I checked the Google listing for our business the hours were there and correct anyway.

Fake call with a human claiming to be a automated call making Google Maps updates. Not so. Google have no such service.

I then informed him we did not require an update, as I had just checked our hours and they are correct... He responded by saying "Ah Gotcha, right!" and hung up.
