i just had the same thing. When i mentioned we update this info ourselves he very quickly ended the convo and hung up. I tried getting him to stay on the line to figure out WHY he was asking this but he just ended it

i called back... its from google maps the autosystem says

Sounded like a real person but was apparently a robo call from Google Maps, it asked me what my business hours were and I said them but nothing more was said. That number is on this Google My Business help page see https://support.google.com/business/answer/7690269

advised him that our hours were already correct on google maps and hung up.

possible scam call of some sort? not sure.

Robocall from "google maps'. Don't provide info because they want a recording of your voice saying numbers, hang up immediately

Very weird call - must have either been overseas and had a delay, or a robocaller. Said the call was being recorded. Wanted to know business hours for the 7 days of the week.

Received call to my place of work, man saying its Google Maps and this is an automated service and wanting to know business hours. I said I would have to put the call through to the owner, got 'okay' and then asked for a name...kept repeating this is an automated service from Google Maps etc each time I asked for a name. I said that for an automated service it sounded awfully like a human person. Then I hung up.

Said it was from Google Maps and would like to update the business hours but I told him our business hours are updated in google and he suddenly can't understand what am saying and quickly ended the call.

Ok so this is bordering on harassment now. Calling up to five times a day.

Google automated answering service to confirm business opening hours. Sounds genuine, some business listings on Google Maps are annotated with 'Confirmed by phone call 5 weeks ago',

Someone from Google, sounded like an obvious telemarketer...they said they were updating the business hours and wanted me to confirm, as i was in the middle of giving him the information he asked for he interrupted me and said "We just needed the details for this phone number, thank you and have a good day" and hung up on me, he didn't even get all the information he asked for cause he interrupted and hung up!

Said he was from Google wanting to update our hours. I asked him to tell me what hours he had on record for us and I would confirm if they were correct and he said he didn't understand and would I just answer the question. Back and forth like that for a while then he said he couldn't understand me and hung up! When I checked the Google listing for our business the hours were there and correct anyway.

Fake call with a human claiming to be a automated call making Google Maps updates. Not so. Google have no such service.

I'm getting very tired of these muppets calling me all the time wanting details of my business that they can clearly see on the website.

It went automated after asking if the above was my business I said yes he recorded that then it hung up highly suss if you ask me now he has my voice wtf???? Are you sure this is legitimate felt awfully scammy to me. Yes I called (02) 9160 9443 back it said it didn’t reply from messages on that number and it opened with welcome to Google Maps
Feeling quite concerned

A man called claiming to be from 'Google' to confirm our trading hours. When I asked him why he was asking as I have received quite a few call of the same nature, he just said that 'it was an automated system and only dealt with trading hours'. Might be a scam call to find out when people will be in the office and when best time to rob your office is. Be cautious!

The same guy has called 4-5 times in the last few months and asks to confirm our opening hours for google maps.

While I've looked around and it does seem that this number is legit, the service seems a bit arbitrary if anyone can change our opening hours on a whim.
I received a few negative reviews saying that we were closed when google maps said we were open, but I found out someone had changed our opening time to 6:30am instead of 8:30am.

When I brought it up with this caller, he just kept repeating the same line "I'm an automated caller from Google Maps calling to confirm your opening hours". I asked for his name and he just kept repeating the line. Not sure if he was pretending to be a robot or something.

absolute trash. that business is my livelihood and for some reason, google maps reviews matter
