Yesterday I visited a Telstra Office - so I was not surprised to receive a follow up call - but I missed answering. I didn't recognise the number, so checked this listing. Almost certainly legitimate. I returned the call, and there was a message saying they would call back soon. All good.

Genuine Telstra call occurred when NBN dropped out for few hours. When 'net back on, no landline so phoned Telstra from mobile . Very pleasant girl in Phillipines managed to get landline up and running, and in so doing rang the landline using the above number. I do get and hate scam calls but this was a genuine number. Of course, maybe Telstra have some scammers on staff, but this was not my case.o

Just received a call (Tuesday) that a problem I reported last Saturday would prompt a call from Telstra Faults within 24 hours.
Was unable to reply as caller rang off before I could.
Problem was fixed yesterday (Monday).

They've rung 3 times in the last couple of hours. I checked message bank and there was no message. Just each call had fuzzy silence until I hung up.
If this is genuine Telstra then they should leave a message. I refuse to answer calls when I don't know the number. Fed up with the harrassment from telemarketers and scammers. When do our rights not to be harrassed morning, noon or night get acknowledged and something is done about it.

I have 10 missed called from this number. All over the space of 40 minutes. I'm sure this must count as some form of embarrassment.

Genuine Telstra number. I thought it was a nuisance call when there were two missed calls from this number with no message left. I returned the call, reached Telstra, and was told they didn't have a record of anyone calling me. But I've just answered the third call from this number and it was a Telstra technician responding to a landline/NBN fault I reported yesterday.

Annoyed

This is not the first call from this number, which one would think originates in Sydney given the area code.

It is seriously dishonest of Telstra to represent the call originating somewhere in Australia but is clearly coming from an overseas call centre.

I have no problem with someone overseas having and doing their job, my irritation is Telstra's dishonesty.

If the call originate overseas, show it as such.

Moreover, dishonesty is one thing, racism is another.

I consider Telstra and all companies who use overseas call centres where the staff are forced to use a "Christian" or "anglo-saxon" name rather than their birth name as engaging in racist activity.

Oh that poor white Australian will never be able to pronounce Suhendra, let's call him Ted.

What is even more offensive is that this action by Telstra and other companies making staff use name other than their birth name is the reinforcement of racist stereotypes, an institutional embedding of white Western over all other.

Beyond that, people I do not know wanting me to confirm personal details and record my voice for "training purposes"! No thanks, security comes before someone else's job tasks.

And, the recordings are for liability reasons, just be honest!

Imagine the shear number of calls Telstra record. Does anyone really think that are all use for "training purposes"?

Seriously Annoyed

Not a scam. Actually listen to the person before assuming it is a spam call. They Called to let me know about changes to my download limit (increased to unlimited). did not ask my personal details and said I should have an email from Telstra to confirm (which I had last week).
