I got a call from this number but I was away from my phone so it was a missed call.
I just checked the number online and came across this website.

I have not recieved any further calls from this number but would it be worthwhile to call Optus and ask if thi is a legitimate OPTUS number ?

They called me, and then said they were from ‘24/7 optus’. They were looking for me. But i said j was unavailable. There was also background noise. When i answered there was a dialing sound, this is probably a machine that calls thousands of numbers, if someone picks up then the call will be transferred to a person. Spam

They called my wife to find me. And they just hang up, I think it is a spam.

Time wasters, trying to sell a bigger data plan, I can't use the amount I get every month 20gb I told him I have about 19gb every month to sell him. When I asked if he was interested the phone went dead. ....

I've been receiving calls from this number everyday for the past 5 days. Harrassed more like it.

Called offering extra data (Optus). I asked whether this would cost me more money & if that's the case I'm not interested & then he hung up on me. Pretty friggin rude if it's really Optus.

No answer after I picked up the call. Then they hung up a moment later. Spam.

I was very suspicious about this, but have made some checks, the story they are telling is quite true. Apparently they are calling people who are longstanding customers (so they said) and have a mobile which still uses the 2G service, which Optus are closing down. They are offering a free 3G phone, its presumably a cheapie.

Constantly ringing

(02) 8049 6146 Called me and said some of my information and said promotion about internet GB I said I don't want it he still asking about my birthday after that I said I don't want it!!! And the link was quiet without say something! This is really Optus?

Yep, claim they are with Optus. Who knows if it's true or not. I didn't give them my DOB and just asked them to tell me what package they were trying to sell. Even if it is true, they were trying to sell me a plan that costs more than my current one and has less inclusions than what you can get online!

Called and said it was Optus something about some deals but wanted to confirm my birthday but only the year, gave me the date and month and I had to confirm year. Have spoken to Optus many times before and never have been asked to do this. Told them I didn't feel comfortable they kind of just gave up. Seems dodgy.

There is absolutely no need to start a conversation by asking for DOB. If I am interested in the offer then I will even tell the color of my undies. I have my Optus account set not to receive any promotional calls and only reach me via email. When will Optus start showing some respect to their customers?
