Legitimate call from Citibank. Did not ask for any of my details other than to confirm my name and mailing address. They had the last 4 digits of my credit card, which was compromised as an online merchant that I bought from had been hacked.

Wanted to confirm details on my Coles Credit Card. Knew my name. Barely understandable due to a very heavy Indian accent . This call screams SCAM. I wouldn't trust the posts here saying the call is legitimate.

This sh*t has gone on long enough. Applied for credit card from Coles. five minutes l got a call from overseas call centre to verify all I had put in the application. Could not understand person and quality of call was hopeless. Transferred six times and they were just as bad, had to hang up. About time these useless bloody companies woke up, and if they want to use these frigging call centres get someone that can speak English, stupid bastards.

This is legit. The people saying it's a scam are panic merchants, who haven't actually checked it.

Got bounced from NAB to Citibank's phone lines when trying to call back after getting a silent voicemail. (not a customer of either bank by the way), sounds like a scam to me.

I received a call from this number but didn't recognise it, so I rejected it. And guess what? They didn't leave a voicemail. A good sign that it's most likely a telemarketing call (at best) or a scam. Besides which, I don't even have a Citibank account and never have!

This was the number that called me to follow up on a coles mastercard application. In my opinion it is legit. People who were called and said they don't even have that card perhaps it was an accidental call. Theres probably hundreds of staff calling all sorts of people all day. its bound to happen. As always though, be careful what information you share. and if in doubt, find their number and call if you are a bit suspicious.

It’s legitimate, I did apply for a credit card and they just needed to verify that it was me who applied for it and not someone else using my details to apply for it. Got the confirmation text and email from Citibank a few minutes after to confirm that my card application has been approved.

Caller: Coles Mastercard credit call centre

I applied for a Coles Mastercard recently. This call centre rang back to ask for further information. Left a 1300 number to call back. Seems legit. If you dont think so, simply ignore.

Caller: Possibly Citibank....??

Rang out or hung up upon answer. If it is legit or important, they will call back, after they leave a message. Neither occurred.
