I picked up the phone and a lady speaked in Chinese don’t answer

When I picked up, there is a robotic recorded sound that speaks English, saying "Chinese Australia Embassy". I hung up straight away. I'm not from China and I don't have any relation to Chinese Embassy here or anywhere.

Caller: No idea

Came up as Canberra just a robotic sounding recording in chinese or mandarin. Obviously scammy looking at other posts. Just block the number

Didn't answer the call but it left a 16 second voicemail which was in chinese but sounded like an automated recording. Blocked as spam.

Someone speaking Mandarin saying they're from the Chinese Embassy. This is a documented scam.

Just got the called. I am a Mandarin native speaker. So I understand what they said.

Basically, they told me that I had breached the Chinese law and blab blab ....

At the end of the call, he asked my to see him and gave me the address of the Chinese Embassy in Canberra.

I told them I know where the embassy is and the address he gave me is not the one that Google search told me.

So hang up the phone.

Google the news and the Chinese Embassy has already stated it is a scam trap.

Had a phone call from this number, woman speaking Chinese, do not answer!!

i got a call today 7/8/2018 as well. it was in mandarin but seemed from recording voice. Same i blocked it now.

This is the fax number for the Chinese embassy in Canberra, Australia. I'm not Chinese and I've never been to China. Not sure why I'm receiving this call and why its a listed fax machine number calling a mobile phone.
