My wife got scammed by this win a prize racket, 25 minutes cost $97.691. Telstra can't or won't do anything, making too much out of having their customers ripped off. Oh for a decent alternative communications company.

We were caught by this scam. They tell you to answer some questions to win a prize and keep you on the phone as long as possible. It cost us $65. Beware of unsolicited incoming calls.

Just called Telstra about a bill (we are not with them btw). A charge of $22.46 for something called Trivia Help on this numbetr. If Telstra knows about this and knows it's a scam they should not be charging for it. Take the loss and do something about it instead. I will not be paying this bill.

This is a telephone scam that starts with an e-mail telling you that you are on a short list to win a prize. You are required to phone 1902 228 173 for a pin number which you enter to begin a quiz. For every correct answer you give you are told that you are getting closer to a prize. The longer they can keep you doing the quiz the more money they make and the bigger your phone-bill.

We got charged around $25 for a series of calls purportedly made from my husband's mobile during the same second and from places that are 15 mins drive apart! He did not make any call to this number ever. He was in fact teaching at the time i.e. standing up in front of a group of kids! We complained to our phone company and put a bar on that number and they gave us a credit as they agreed it was technically impossible for us to have made multiple calls at the same time. Definitely a scam!

Nothing but a scam. Hit for 2 charges of $44 in December . Talked to Vodaphone & a part refund promised. But why aren't the phone companies killing this off ? Do they make something from those who never complain ?

I was charged $22.77 for a telephone call to 1902 228 173 on December 7th . Neither my husband nor I made this call. In fact we do not EVER waste our money on these 1900 so called information calls. I contacted Telstra and brought their attention to this scam. They are investigating this number and have credited our account with the above amount.
