I too have been scammed with this No. on Jan 19 according to my recent Telstra bill at 25Mins for $97.757. We did not call this No. We could have received a call from this No. as a scam survey but were not advised that it would be reverse charged. Telstra have placed the charge for this call in suspense while I find more info for them. They advised me of a mob called 1300support.com which appears a bona fide Mediation and Support group for these sorts of scams. They claim to be independent and operate in Australia.

I received a bill from Telstra for $125.56 for dialling 1902 228 173. After contacting Telstra, they said it was a 32'19" call to Afghanistan on 12 Jan. What the ...? What's in it for the shysters? DO they get paid up front for the so called call then Telstra charges us. If that's the case, what a poor business practice. With so many complaints, why don't Telstra get off their butts and sort this out.

I was billed $97.69. I googled this number and after reading the posts thought that i wouldn't get a refund. Rang Telstra and after some time of them checking I was credited the full amount and then had the 1900 numbers blocked

I received at purported notification from Woolworths advising me that I could win a $500 Supermarket Gift Card by entering a Competition through this number. I dialed up and started answering questions. Even when wrong I was given a second chance and encouraged to keep going. 25 minutes later the call dropped out and I have received a $97.80 bill from Telstra for the call. I tried to contact Woolworths to ask why I should pay for a Competition call, but to no avail. Telstra seems to be able to check on me before setting up an account, but they don't seem to be able to stop the SCAMMERS!

If the Telco companies know this number to be a scam why don't they automatically block it? Do they get a cut from the scammers?

I got a bill from Telstra for a phone call to this number, and I rang to query the charge. Telstra said it was a valid charge - the girl suggested Entering the number into Google and I found this page. She was unable to ring the number from wherever she was (Philippines), and when I told her it was a scam and Telstra should have blocked people from being able to make the calls she was sympathetic and was able to credit half the cost of the call to my account.

Received our phone bill from Dodo today by email. Charged $97.69 for a call we did not make on 15/12/16 at 4.33 pm to 1902 228 173. It is ridiculous this is allowed to go on in our country. Will be contacting Dodo about it.

I was billed for an amount of $97.00 for a call which I did not make. The call was recorded at 4.12am on a Sunday morning. This company should be jailed for what they are doing to people. It is time the police intervene to charge these people.

I have received a bill for $121.05 on my Optus account and like all the others on here I have not made this call. I have had to request an investigation as Optus accept the information provided by me without investigations. I did receive a text alert from Optus indicating I had excess charges on m mobile account which went in to the shop front to find out what it was about. It is amazing that no one could tell me anything and had no idea why I got the text in the first, then the bill came in with excess charge. Not satisfactory customer service from Optus.

Scammed by a competition from "Bunnings" which followed the Bunnings monthly account into my in box so that it looked like it was from Bunnings. It had Bunnings pictures and logos etc. so seemed legitimate. My latest phone bill shows that I was charged $106.11 Lesson learnt! I will never enter a competition on line/phone again. It is hard enough to try to be sure about AGL, Telstra, ANZ and every other email I get in as to know who is real and who is not as these scammers are using coporate logos to make them look legitimate. Maybe we could all go back to paper and Australia Post but that service has become a thing of the past for business. The Federal Government need to get up to date with cyber security as we are lagging behind. So was Hilary Clinton!!
