Persistent nuisance caller who kept calling in spite of getting the answering machine every time. Kept this up most of the afternoon. We routinely use our answering machine to screen calls when we are busy; so not too fussed. No messages left at any time indicating that the caller was either illegitimate or not serious. Caller ID displayed the number so we did not bother calling back. We have no contacts in WA in particular or interstate in general. People who need to contact us for genuine reasons are welcome to write. We are literate and welcome written communications; just not unsolicited callers ;) That these people may come from a background of poverty in a less developed part of the world does not excuse their dishonesty and total lack of courtesy.

Keep receiving calls from (08) 9562 3201 about my internet telling me my Internet was being hacked. I rang TELSTRA. The information I received from them was that they were actually trying to hack my computer. So if you receive a call from this number simply hang up.

Just received the same call from this no. purporting to be from Telstra. As soon as I mentioned I had just been talking to Telstra, which a had just recently about my Internet connection he hung up. I get these calls regularly and someone should be stopping them. This day and age it should not be hard to find out where they are comming from. Incidentaly I only answered it because it had our area code. They are getting clever.

Had them many times - used to let them keep going just to annoy them but now just wait till I'm sure it's a scam & blow my ACME Thunderer very loudly into the phone. Sure makes them go away.

I had several calls and just hung up. i got so annoyed that another time I said i knew they were a scam and should be ashamed of themselves and how do they sleep at night. I had several calls later after that. Some hung up before I could get there, one with a loud horrible noise and the last time the person just laughed in the phone and said "can you see me?" obviously trying to scare me. It is awful that it is therefore not a random computer generated call if they repeat harass you. I have "do not call" but of course these Call centres dont care. If we have their number, why are they not stopped?

Why doesn't Telstra block these numbers? 5 calls in 3 days always with the same lies. Yes, there does seem to be a connection with legitimate Telstra calls. Needs investigation.

Some dumb Indian who claims they are from Telstra and that I have computer problems. Three calls today from this number and two yesterday. These scammers make then entire Indian race look like idiots. And they wonder why the world distrusts them. Which ever carrier sells these numbers should be jailed for selling Australian numbers to foreigners. We all know Telstra sucks and has no support team, so it has to be a scam. LOL

If you ever receive this 08 number again, just grab a whistle and give it a good blast when they start to speak, and the reason these clowns are ringing is because Telstra's brilliant idea of sourcing overseas cheap call centers has back fired and it's only going to get worse.

Indian person stating they were from Telstra. I was having problems with my Internet and they knew what problems I was having. Gave me names and employee IDs and stated that how I could verify that the call was from Telstra. I did this and was told that they the person I was speaking to on the other line was legitimate.

Ended up getting scammed - hacked into my bank account, transferred money from my credit card into my savings account and then transferring $2500 from it via Ria Financial Services in America to another person with the same last name as me!

While they were on they phone I rang Telstra and finally got to talk to someone who could verify that the caller was a scammer.

I am always sceptical of these callers and they finally got me. Very dangerous people. They even rang me again several times after I hung up and turned off my computer.

An Indian man (aparently named Shawn McMam - he spelt it for me) called me and said that he was from Telstra and that the internet would be down tomorrow for 5 days. He needs to backup my computer and change the server number on it otherwise we would have no internet. He even provided me with a Telstra Job Id number and asked if he could call me back in 10 minutes (after I verified him with Telstra), lol.

This number called twice within an hour today and when I picked up the phone a female recorded voice just said Goodbye and hung up. I get a lot of this kind of nuisance calls usually claiming they are from Telstra and there is a problem with my computer. I usually say the caller must be pretty clever to see this when I don't even have a computer and I am reporting them to Telstra. They then as a rule slam the phone down. HOWEVER, I have come to realise that I usually get a spate of these kind of nuisance calls right after I have had legitimate telephone dealings with a Telstra business office. I would say there are rats in the organisation directing contact phone numbers to scammers.

Claim to be from Telstra about computer problems. Why would Telstra call me about computer problems? They can't even fix internet problems!

I told the caller I wasn't interested in scam calls. He asked "what makes you say that it is a scam". I said because I received a call like this last month, the month before and in fact just about every month for the entire year. I then told the caller to go out and get a proper job before hanging up on him. I'm hoping he won't call back. SCAM SCAM SCAM!
