Pain.....I have had 6 calls this week. once they have answered I just put my phone down on the table. I think they can't clear the line. Could still hear noises in the background 20 min later. Telstra engineer wants to fix my computer.

Keep getting calls from a call centre claiming to be from Telstra, re an internet problem. The click and call centre noises in the background is a give away.
Just checked message bank and another 3 calls on same night from this number that did not leave a message. So frustrating when they don't abide by the do not call list.

An Indian man claimed he was from Telstra & said the usual crap about me having internet problems. I let him go for a bit, then when he asked me to go to my computer so he could show me the problem, which I know to NEVER do. I said to him that this was a scam as I wasn't even with Telstra. Then he went on with that Telstra owns all the lines... I asked him why he was trying to scam poor innocent people. He said he had nothing against Australians, but he needed the money. I told him we were poor too & he asked me if I could just pay him $1000 or $2000. I told him I didn't have that much money. So he was polite & told me to have a nice day then. I was surprised he was polite about it & actually admitted to it... I just have to hope he doesn't keep calling...

This disgusting person on the other end of this call threatened my daughter (who is only 15) and said he knew where we lived. Indian scum. In this day and age you would think that technology could track them down and haul them off to prison.

How come Telstra can't do anything with all these different calls numbers? what kind of company we have in Australia than can not do nothing about it? or are we living in the middle of the dessert?

I am having the same problem from this number. They call several times in a row on any given day, sometimes a man sometimes a woman. I have also got recorded messages saying "goodbye". This is crap, why do we have to put up with this nonsense? I started off being polite, and just saying I'm not with Telstra, now I let them have it. Telling them I'm not with Telstra and to stop calling me, that I'm getting sick of it, then they just hang up. It's really upsetting, I feel like my privacy is being invaded by these complete strangers, and that I'm totally helpless to do anything about it.😡😡😡😡

I received 3 calls in the space of 45 min and would like to understand how it is that someone can call from a number that can be captured on Caller ID, but is not connected when that number is used to return the call.
I like what a previous person who commented on this number said to these idiots. I will do the same. They're a pack of animals who would prey on some poor, unsuspecting person or pensioner. They are no better than scum and our wonderful Telcos, who have the welfare of their precious customers at heart - do absolutely nothing to stamp it out - let alone the useless "Do not call" register.

Had been getting calls from this number frequently, even on the same day. Like other calls most of the time there is a sort of silence and the a woeman's voice says goodbye and hangs up. Managed to get to the phone to here a voice that sounded Indian coming from overseas; he tried to tell me that Telstra, my internet supplier (which it is not) would be disconnecting for a week, would I like to organise cover for that week. When I questioned him or pushed the issue a bit he became short and and abrupt. Definitely a scam, rang Telstra to confirm! [while typing this another call came through, this time I was abrupt and said your not from Telstra he hung up. When you dial the number is says it is not connected.

Some tossa called me twice in half an hour today stating they were from Telstra. First call they said that my internet was going to be down for 5 days, no reason. Then asked me if I have a computer, in particular a laptop. When I ask what difference did it make what type of machine I was using to access my internet, they promptly hung up.... Second call I was on the phone to Telstra on another line, so the actual Telstra employee got to listen to the scam first hand.

Got a call from some guy who said he was from windows technical dpt working for Telstra. Told me I had problems with my computer. I let him go on for a little while until he realised I knew he was a scam artist and then told me I was 'completely a slut'! Following day I got another call telling me I had computer problems. He caught me at the wrong time and I gave him a mouthful and hung up. He called right back screaming obscenities at me! Is everyone in India a filthy, lying scam artist??!!
