(07) 5503 4333 is another number as well as (07) 5503 4389 (07) 5503 4350 & (07) 5503 4355 that sales people or the formidable 'Jan' from the Australian Taxation Reporter uses to push people into supposed free tax info that turns into an expensive subscription then continually call & intimidate for payment. They call about twice a year & very convincingly try to make you feel obliged to receive their info as though they work for the ATO & it you must receive ot 'or else'! They cannot force you into anything. Do not accept their offers. The information is very general & useless if you have an accountant already.

Just hang up. Don't waste a word.
Pushy, worthless "tax reporting".

Why can't businesses join the 'do not call' register ????

Extremely Frustrated!!!

I had Bonnie call my staff constantly multiple times a day for weeks until I finally agreed to take the call. (My instincts told me not to take the call, hence why I had not taken the call for weeks, I should have listened to my instincts) Bonnie then constantly talked and talked and after plenty of 'No I'm not interested' I finally agreed to allow them to send us a sample pack of their service to get her off the phone. The sample pack they sent was all information I could easily get from the website. I sent the sample pack back and I have been receiving call after call from Christine demanding payment saying they have not received the pack back in the mail (Which I have sent back). I explained to Christine that we did NOT want this service as the information I need is readily available by the ATO and our accountant should know everything anyway. She gets extremely rude and won't let me talk and I got to the point I actually had to put her on hold and have another manager speak to her because she got me so worked up (I do not recall a time in my life when I have been so offended, frustrated and worked up). She said over and over again that we couldn't get this information anywhere else and the accountants wouldn't know this information so our business HAS to have this service. I have called the ATO, fair trade and small business commissioner and nobody wants to do anything about these people. After explaining this to my boss she called the number on their website and demanded that our number be taken off of their call register and the company do not call us again. Minutes after that, the manager I passed Christine to got a phone call from Jenny who was actually nice and put a note saying not to call us. If these people call DO NOT agree for them to send you a sample pack. Even the Small Business Commission advised me to just hang up on them whenever they called me.

Yes the same thing has happened to my husband recently. He owns a small panel shop and could hardly hear the lady (Jan) due to background noise and thought they were from the ATO. He agreed to have something sent out and now we have the dreaded $539 bill. I contacted them to complain and Jan offered us a payment plan (how lovely of her) and then got very aggressive when I told her she was a scammer. I guess the truth hurts.

ATR are still at it. Had the same introduction phone call saying how important it was for me to have their magazine etc. They sent out their package and I had a brief look at it and then decided I wasn't interested in it, sent it back within the cooling off period, got a phone call to say I still needed to pay the invoice of $539.00 because they received it after the time. Told them no, needless to say we are now going into the 3 month of harassing phone calls every few days, even when we hang up "Christine" rings back and gets very annoyed.
I never signed anything, she said it was a verbal agreement and I was obligated to pay. They are now sending me overdue statements saying it needs to be paid within 7 days. It seems to be that every 3rd day we are getting the calls now. We are so over this harassment. Since reading these comments though I am now more determined that I will not pay them, they can keep trying all they like. I never signed anything and they haven't even gotten my last name right. I just have to put up with the calls at the moment. Hopefully they will cease soon :(

They're still at it. Same mode. My assistant manager was flat out and did the ol 'ok send some info' to get them off the phone. Now the invoices are coming, the snippet or recorded phone call was sent (where's the first few minutes of "no thanks, no thanks, not interested"??).
NO NOT PAY THEM A CENT!!! absolute scumbags, predatory selling, may they ROT IN HELL

Received a call asking for the "business owner or financial controller". I said I was the regional manager and the dude said "no problem we'll ring head office thanks" and hung up on me. Rang the number back and it rang out. I remembered reverseaustralia.com and found them out!

My staff have also been harassed by Australian Taxation Reporter about an "outstanding" invoice, for something we didn't knowingly sign-up for.

Jan (she's had cancer you know) is very insistent that even the High Court of Australia subscribes. She even emailed me a partial voice recording of my staff supposedly agreeing to the terms and conditions (whilst also talking about the weather).

I told her i'd see her in QCAT.

Receptionist thought it was the ATO first. Pushy salesperson just would not stop. To shut her up I said send the envelope 2 months ago. I still have not opened the envelope and now their credit department is demanding payment of $539 for one year. They said they have a recording of me entering into a verbal contract after the 10 day cooling off period.
Rang Office of fair trading - as telemarketing unsolicited consumer agreement - they need to have a printed contract and extends to a 3-6 months cooling off period. Link for fair trading site = http://www.fairtrading.qld.gov.au/door-to-door-sales-telemarketing.htm

I have also been tricked into a hard push would not take a breath sales pitch and was sent an envelope that I thought was a sample and now getting the harassing very pushy phone calls demanding payment for $539 a year. I did not even open their envelope.
Just rang office of fair trading. As is telemarketing and not given contract in writing or a form for me to exercise my rights for the cooling off period I have 3-6 months to cancel this "subscription" Like with details on Fair Trading web site is

Called again - makes it sound very official and important.... must make some employees wonder what their employers are up to. The first time they rang I though there may have been a problem, but then I came here and see what it REALLY is....
So is this my third, fourth or fifth complaint in a row???

This Jan lady is quite funny actually, rang my personal number asking for the buisness rep(im just the account manager), i told her they were unavailable at the moment and that the number she rang was my personal number, she said thats strange, this is the only number associated with the buisness.. which i know for a fact is bull.. she then asked me for company details, wich i told her if she was a part of the ato she should have them, she got feisty with me and i asked her for a contact number, little did she know i had the number that she rang her, then she said i dont give out my personal details.. couldnt help but laugh.. such a scam!! dont fall for it!!

Hi Scammer - Which is the best group to report ATR to?? I tried consumer affairs & I didnt have enough proof for them to file a report so I urge all to document/record as much information on this harassment as possible.

For Dan

No Dan, there is no formal agreement & you are not required to pay ATR at all. Unfortunately you will just have to put up with Jan's agressive phone calls demanding payment. If you have Caller ID it's easier not to answer any of the numbers listed on these pages as she is quite unreasonable & will talk over you. If not just hang up. I had this issue a year ago and refused to pay for a product I neither asked for or wanted and after much arguing I dont receive any calls now. I just wish there was a way to stop ATR conducting business in this unscrupulous manner
