This company called me trying to sell their package. Our accountant only comes in 1 day per week so I said if you want to send something for her to look at then go ahead but she's not here every week. AT NO TIME WAS I ADVISED THAT WE HAD A 16 DAY COOLING OFF PERIOD. In other words... if we didn't send it all back to them we had to pay! We are an extremely busy company and when the stuff come in I didn't even look at it (had no idea about the time limit you see). So yesterday they called wanting to know why i hadn't paid!!! The woman was quite rude and demanding and I told her I wasn't advised there would be a charge if we did nothing. She said her rep was excellent and I would have been told. Of course they don't record their calls (she said they don't need to). I ended up hanging up on her. Then today she rings again as though nothing happened yesterday. Again I said we were not paying. She said "Well if the company isn't paying then you are!!!" So I hung up again. This company might be celebrating 20 years etc... and they might send a lot of stuff out (and get paid) but I think it's a huge rip off and they are NOT to be trusted. DO NOT LET THEM SEND YOU ANYTHING (I thought I'd get samples). IT'S CRAP!!!!!

Looks like you're not the only one, Carol. I am aware of exact same problem with another company from Aust Taxation reporter.

The only opposition Jan would have would be Nigerian scammers. The ATR bullies are very real. Their pleasant at first sales people have been calling here for many years. I have experienced Jan's abuse personally. She is clearly delusional not to mention narcissistic if she thinks any one in the industry would bother about her! This woman needs to GO!

EVERYONE, CALL GOT MONEY FX ON 1300 725 889 AND ASK FOR DAVID, HE WILL SEND AN EMAIL TO "JAN", I DID THIS AND SHE CANCELLED STRAIGHT AWAY AND HAS NOT CALLED BACK. GOT MONEY FX IS ASSOCIATED WITH ATR SOMEHOW, WHEN I CALLED "JAN" BACK SHE WAS SHEEPISH AND REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO SPEAK WITH ME AFTER SHE RECEIVED THIS AN EMAIL FROM DAVID, IF HEAPS OF PEOPLE CALL DAVID THEN THEY JUST MIGHT STOP DOING THIS TO US.

Will they are still out there saying they are sending information packs, when they are sending invoices and demanding money, and yes how hard is it to get off the phone . dont do it . get a good accountant and do the right thing

I have just been rung by this company, obviously they have no marketing skills. They did not ask for the decision maker, or if it was timely, and after listening to their 3 minutes of speel, thanked them and said no thanks, which was responded to by sarcasm. So now they are a proven, rude sarcastic company, and that is how I will remember them.

(07) 5503 4389 is another number 'Jan' from the Australian Taxation Reported uses to bully & harass poor small businesses to chase up payment for reports forced upon them & returned. DO NOT ANSWER CALLS from this number or from two other similar numbers (07) 5503 4350 or (07) 5503 4355. Do not agree to receive ANY correspondence from them. It is useless & you will have signed a deal with the DEVIL. Be warned

Hi Everyone, just another person who is having the same issues with the ATR. They are certainly one of the most horrible forceful companies I have ever dealt with but instead of Jan, I got the pleasure of Kristine who sounds like she and Jan were trained the same way! We will not be paying either as the goods were returned, albeit it was after the cooling off period, I was sure I had not been informed that this was the case so I had the recording sent through and now have proof that I did not agree to pay if it went past the 16 days and the sales lady did not explain that I would have to. If she had I certainly would have refused the 'sample' package. They also did not provide a return to sender envelope big enough to fit the documents back in (it was a c7 size when the package would fill a c4) so I had to send them via express post. On another note, I deal with all legal matters regarding our company and under no circumstance could I possibly see how they could take this further but I have instructed them to do so if they wish and I will take it from there if I need to but I would prefer to pay lawyers than their $539.00.

We have just had a call from these demanding money, I've reported them to the ACCC scam watch and ASIC.

We never order anything without a purchase order, I've asked them to provide it.

Thia company extremely pushy and now threatening us for payment even trying to discount the service. I have lodged a complaint with dept of fair trade and also emailed them stating we are not to be contacted again.

I am currently having arguments with this company! I agreed to a package being sent out as I cannot approve sales etc and said I could pass it on to my manager they are now accusing me of agreeing to their services, agreeing to their recorded service terms etc. Suspiciously they cannot provide me with this recording. ? ? Thinking of heading down the advice of consumer affairs and ASIC as many others have done!

I'm glad I have come across this site. I'm in Adelaide . I have just received a letter of demand for payment for something I never received. Jan has rung on numerous occasions and I have repeatedly told her I hadn't received anything . She was extremely rude and accused m of lying . I will not be paying a cent and will now be contacting consumer affairs.

How is this companie not shut down. so unethical rude scammer. they need locking up .. please help

This Jan woman just told me on the phone that all these complaints come from her opposition! I asked her if she believes consumer affairs is against her too because they told me under no circumstances pay money to this woman! Hung up on me when i asked more questions! Reported again to both Consumer Affairs and ASIC.

I have had the same thing happen to me only a month or so ago. I am a small business a cafe in Adelaide in fact they called never explaining about a 16 day cooling off period or that it turns into an invoice. The lady that first called was extremely lovely and i explained that im busy and just post the info, i'll read it and if im interested i will call you back. Since then i have numerous calls suggesting that i pay the invoice and when said that i was never told about the 16 day crap they said that they will email me the recording of the phonecall. Not once did they say they would be recording the phone call and when i did give my email address so they can email me the 'so called' recording i am still yet to receive it despite them calling again to explain that the email did go through i argued that i hadnt got it and they just repeated 'the email went through'!!!! Well i have not got the email and am still waiting its a load of crap!!!!

I have contacted Office of Fair Trading who stated they need documented proof of interactions to proceed with an investigation. I ask all who are continuing to receive calls from Jan to write down the dates & times of her calls, if possible record them, if not write down what she says & present to OFT who stated they will look into ATR with the appropriate details. Unfortunately I didn't record dates & times but would love to see ATR taught how to operate a business professionally & ethically without bullying & coercement

Thank goodness we found this site! We too have had exactly the same experience from someone ringing to tell us we needed this information - even though we said we were not interested we felt bullied and pressured into saying they could send the pack out if they liked, just to get them off the phone! They DID NOT at that first call tell us that we would need to send the pack back before the 16 day cooling off period ended. The pack arrived but we did not open as we weren't aware of the cooling off period. When JAN did start calling us we sent the pack back straight away - although apparently to her it was too late. Each time she calls she makes it sound like she is affiliated with the ATO. How unethical to force a service not required onto someone!! She is unethical, sneaky and rude!! Everyone beware of this scam and tell them you do not want the pack sent out. We will not be paying anything now that we have found this site!

Just read this post from John on another page, good to know to get Jan off our backs.....I hope no one is actually paying money to this scam "ATR Conmpany"! They are according to Consumer Affairs in breach seection 82 Australian consumer act which is Federal law.
