Oh my goodness, just had a call from Jan myself. Can't believe I'm reading here about everything that has happened to me. To cut a long story short, I had a call weeks ago about this information. Same story, couldn't get off the phone, agreed to have the information sent as I was told if once it arrived I didn't find it helpful to just send it back within the 'cooling off period' which I did. The information was no different to what I receive from the ATO (even with the quarterley BAS). Now have just been told that 'they havn't received it' and that I owe the amount payable. It was such a dodgy phone call this time, which was what made me google the company name to see if anyone else had this problem and surprise, surprise - there have been many. I have no intention of paying the money and will be taking the matter to Fair Trading etc also. This is the first time I have been caught with one of these scams however the first phone call I received from them was very convincing - be careful!!!!

Got scammed by this mob a few years ago when they sent me one of their monthly publications to read. I told them it was not required but because i did not return it within a week or so, they said I was obligated to pay. Returned the publication and they just sent it straight back. Just recently, a colleague also got scammed. (They've given up on me). He told them explicitly that he did not need or want their publications and that he was too busy anyway. Just as he was about to hang up, the woman (Jan?) said she would send him a copy anyway. He received it but never opened the package, and now they have started harassing him saying he has accepted a 12-month subscription on behalf of our organization. He is sending the unopened package back but i have no doubt they will return it and press him to pay the invoice. I can't believe this company is still in business.

I have dealt with Australian Taxation reporter for years and have not had any problem. I understood the terms of their trading at the time which allowed me time to look at the reports at no cost and if I didn't want to continue with the subscription I just had to return reports to sender and the account was cancelled. However, I paid the account before the expiry date of the cooling off period and they have saved me thousands over the years.

Have just been harassed by Jan for payment for so called "free" reading material. "Reading material" has now become a twelve month subscription. No Mention of cooling off period and no mention of payment during initial 'cold 'call'. Don't intend to pay. Of those above who have refused to pay what was the final outcome????? Will also lodge a complaint with fair trading......

OMG, I just read this while I was on the phone to the Office of Fair trading to find out our rights with this. My husband has been getting regular calls from Jan. Can I please ask that everyone in this thread call & report this dishonest company? Not only to the office of Fair trading but to ASIC as well. I wonder how many people just pay the fee??? NOT US!

I actually agreed to look at this package but decided I didn't want it (as it was all info the ato would email me with monthly anyway)and sent it back within the 16 day cooling off period and surprise surprise now they are claiming they never received the package and are demanding payment- I am so sick of dodgy companies scamming people into buying their products!!

Same problem here, most days Jan calls. I have told her in no uncertain terms I am not paying EVER, should I expect a debt collection notice?
