Caller: “Commbank” I know people have mixed reviews about this etc. here’s my logic! We are all experiencing the same thing. A text from commbank saying our card has been used and blocked.
DO NOT REPLY to the text. Check you bank account. Call commbank yourself.
There’s it literally no need to risk replying to the message.
I made a transaction, I got the text, “card blocked etc” I opened my bank, and not a single notification about this “blocked card” or a warning in the App. I proceed to be able to use my card anyway (clearly not blocked) This gives me almost certainty that commbank has been hacked and there is some level of tracking occurring with all the transactions. So some people have actually had unauthorised transactions, but if it was to be reported by commbank, you’d hear about it from a notification from the app or as a warning when opening your account online. Trust the app not a text.
Anyway best of luck! DONT REPLY :) stay safe

This is a spam number yes. However, it is a phishing scam. Your card has already been hacked and replying to the number gives the fraudsters further access. I immediately checked my bank and had 16 unauthorised transactions. Blocked my card, called my bank and it’s under investigation.

Caller: CommBank This is a genuine number for messages from the Commonwealth Bank. Their own website says so: https://www.commbank.com.au/articles/credit-cards/what-should-you-do-if-you-suspect-credit-card-fraud.html
That said, it's possible for scammers to spoof the sending number, so it still pays to be careful. But the number itself is legit, so a real message from the bank could come from this number.
In my case I didn't recognise the transaction so I replied 'no'. Got a call almost immediately from (02) 6189 2667 which was probably legit, but to be extra safe I let it go to voicemail and called the bank myself on 132221. Got through to the fraud dept and someone there was able to help me out with cancelling my card and arranging a replacement.

Caller: Commonwealth Bank I got a message from CommBank Security Alert from this number. Used my name and last 4 dig of my card number and advising this card had been temporarily blocked. I checked my bank first and there were 20 unauthorised purchases made. I called the number from the comm bank website and they immediately cancelled my card and now there is an investigation. Please don't disregard the sms you receive from this number. Check your bank details first and then call the bank from the number on their website.

Caller: Scammer If you get a text from this number, DON’T REPLY!!! This is a scam & NOT from CommBank. I saw a comment here saying it is from the CommBank… IT’S NOT!!! Likely, that comment is from the scammers themselves. So, don’t fall for their BS!

They knew my first name. Commbank security alert .. did u use card((….)) (not mine ) to buy from (UK firm) in GBP. Reply yes/no. Asked in a branch if they send these messages. Emphatic NO! (But no effort to take any more info and report it up the line.) Must have access to my name at least.. I’m sure this info is available on the light/dark web The banks really need to investigate this and sort it!

Caller: Commonwealth Bank of Australia Got a text from this number that looked like a phishing scam - but it was legit! I called CBA (through their customer service phone number listed on their website), and they confirmed/helped me. Check your bank transactions before dismissing a text from this number
