Asked if I was the person responsible for the financial decisions and if I would complete a survey. Simply said that I was not interested. The guy was ok about it. Number now blocked.

I have a telstra Guardian phone now .. the caller has to announce who they are the press hash..and it will only then put the call through ...i can hear the message and either ignore..block or accept.
Family numbers and business i know have their numbers put into memory and they will automatically come through and i see on the display whose calling.
I have not been bothered by a scammer ..or politician ..since

Despite the comments saying this is legitimate market research, this call was received along with dozens of other numbers, mostly trying to sell funeral insurance and other scam related calls. Believe in coincidence at your own risk.

I was texted by them as a warning that they would call. I was concerned so I rang the number and checked out websites as well as people who had had issues with them and asked to come off there call list in future and for them not to call me prior to me asking. They were polite and easily took me off their list. I received no msg's from them after that. I would advise any others to do the same. Do not be angry or rude to them as they are people too and, as cringey as this sounds, treat them as you would wish to be treated(as long as that is to be treated well lol). As a general rule I dont answer calls or texts from people I don't know, which you should do too, these people are no exceptions to that. I still don't trust them, but I hope they will follow through and not call me! Thx to those of you who helped with my investigation and I hope you all can sort it out like I did!

Calling me every day for the last week. I'm on the Do Not Call Register, but my friend says some research companies do not have to obey the register. That stinks. Politicians also do not have to obey the register. Surprise surprise.

I am receiving repeated calls from this number, they do not answer, they hang up.

As far as I'm concerned, it is harassment and prank.

When I call them they claim different business names at different times.

I am Australian, but I do not trust the callers of this number, be it Australian speaking people answering or not, there are all sorts of scammers, Australians included.
Some people will do anything for money, regardless of race.

Do not trust this number.

I too am on the DNC register and have given up reporting details from Aus phone numbers to Telstra who is my server.
They give the same false and irrelevant standard answer back to my reports.

Even more so dont even bother reporting overseas call centres that come up as private on the calling number display.

When I'm feeling mischievous I talk to them in a tribal PNG dialect and they hang up. :-)

But how does one block them please? I'm on Telstra.

BTW I told a lie to a foreign caller who asked if I had solar and did I know about Gov rebates for new solar.
I said I was interested and they said a company would call me next day.
But they didn't call next day or since.
Probably they looked at google earth after this and saw just how many panels I had on the roof. :-) (42)

They are just pests. Keep calling even if I spoke to their "customer consultant" asking her to remove my name from their list - just don't want to waste their time as well as mine. She said, yes sir, I am removing your phone number from our database. Still receiving calls from them, which I don't answer any more.

Pests.

I work for a government entity and recently got a new work phone. There are very few people who have my number.

A couple of weeks ago I got an SMS from 0439 603 528 with the text:

'DBM Consultants, a research firm will contact you for a study about Australian companies. It is not for sales or marketing. Your number was randomly generated'

I've not yet answered the phonecalls. But having now read the posts here, I'm going to block the number.

I received a text message from the blood bank which said...
"DBM Consultants, a research firm will contact you for a study about Australian companies. It is not for sales or marketing. Your number was randomly generated."
This was that phone call which I did not answer.
