Received the following SMS:
DBM Consultants, a research firm will contact you for a study about Australian companies. It is not for sales or marketing. Your number was randomly generated.
I got an SMS said I have a pathology bill is overdue, call 1800 015 973 to discuss. It's a scam!!! But the scariest thing is, I do have a pathology bill is overdue !!! Almost believe it This is the Department of Employment. New employment services start in July. Visit jobsearch.gov.au/jobactive or talk to your provider for more info If its your number then why does it say its disconnected. You dont need to be so rude to everyone Well Kryptx I also received an SMS regarding Australian company research as above. You don't need to be rude to get your message across dude. Try going the other way (being nice to people), just how you would like to be 'spoken' to yourself. I also receive two messages one in April from a Medical centre and another one today from a Job search agency. Strange how come two different companies have the same No. or may be they using some system which send sms using this No. A message saying I have booked a secure carpark in a different state, with PIN number SMS Service Provider.
Received a legit SMS notification reminding me that I'd booked my car in for a service.

We have received return mail for you. Please phone us on 1300 857 254 and provide us with your new address Caller: Automated SMS on behalf of different Jobactive providers
This appears to be a messaging service used by various companies and organisations including RACQ/RACV, Red Cross, Salvation Army, MAX Employment.
All messages received by me from this number so far have been in relation to appointments with Jobactive providers and useless (but legitimate) job ads said providers subscribed me to.
Do not automatically assume it is a scam. It is possible for scammers to make use of a service like this but there is a decent chance it is a legit message. It is certainly a little frustrating that spam and scams can come from the same number that legitimate companies use - as it can be unwise to outright block the number. But there are ways to protect yourself regardless.
If it doesn't give you any links to follow or numbers to call, it is unlikely to be a scam. Scammers want to trick you into giving them information. If they don't give you a way to contact them, they're not able to scam you.
If it does, and it's a company you recognise, use google to find their official website and contact details yourself and use them to contact the company and verify the SMS.
Jobactive providers will sign you up for job ads that may be sent via this service. That's why they have your details even if you've never heard of them.
Why don't these scammers find something better to do than rip off honest, hard-working people. I hope they rot in hell!

Ignored message as u do... deleted as you do... matching me to a job tho in my field ... so there must be some serious data linking software active in the back ground of our phones.. and for the comment it’s ur phone .. well I’d be changing it..
