Great advice Asha - I asked for my number to be removed 6 weeks ago and an STILL BEING CALLED! I will NEVER donate to charities from cold calls. Practice should be banned. Your company should be prosecuted.

Hi all,

My name is Asha & I work at Smart Health Australia.

I understand your frustrations; however this is an unfortunate glitch with our auto dial program – something we are constantly working on resolving. It is certainly not our wish for people to resent our calls as we truly believe in the charities for which we work.

If you would like to be removed from our database please contact us on (03) 8554 6100, you can speak with either myself or any other admin personnel between 8:30am – 5:00pm Mon to Fri & we will ensure that your number is removed from our database immediately.

I ask that you call the number I have given ((03) 8554 6100) rather than the number given by Si Buttons – as that number belonged to us many years ago & is now a private persons phone number, thus at Si & others insistence sadly the lady whom now belongs to this number is literally being verbally ‘harassed’ by the frustrated people really wanting to speak with Smart Health Australia. This is unfair & as I’ve mentioned I am & the rest of Smart Health are more than happy to assist you with this problem.

Once again, we regret that this is an issue for you & will endeavour to resolve it promptly upon your advice that you are one of the unfortunate ones.

Many thanks,

Asha.

Most of the people are so rude that the fundraiser calls ...when they are only trying to help a disabled person in need of financial support of thearapy or a seeing eye dog or a walking aid or a wheelchair etc ...so stop being so damn selfish and stop to think how lucky you are to be able to get to your phone or even have the use of your hands to even answer it ...there is no gun to your head either so just politely say no and that's it ...with no life story's of how old you are and where and when you get your income and what you gotta spend it on...fundraisers arnt social workers or councillers ...they do not want to hear about your so called life problems ...

Some help to stop the calls.
If you have a drop out call it is because everything is done by a computer dialing system and there was not an operator free to complete the call.
The operator is in Australia and trying to earn a living even though they are employed as casual so the have the fear of loosing their job if they do not meet their targets as well as being told where to go buy the person being called.
All you have to say to the operator (be nice)is "Please remove me from the listing." All calls are recorded so the operator WILL comply with your request.
You will have to do this to every charity that calls. But you will notice a reduction in calls.
So you may be wondering how did they get your number?
Marketing companys sell or rent the lists to the charities.
99% of the time YOU gave it away freely to charities, company promotions, raffel tickets and surveys. They do look in the phone book as well.
However if you like the charity do give.

What a load of bullsh*t "Annoyed". These people are not interested in who they are raising money for - they are interested in the 20% commission they get for every dollar they raise. That's all. And if they want to keep ringing people who have told them to stop calling, they will get abuse. The thing is, we are all able to give to charities we want to give to - I don't need some telemarketer annoying me to ask me to donate.

They are not doing it for charity, they are doing it for money. If the charities had their own call centres staffed by volunteers, we wouldn't mind, but these people are paid employees who only care about how much they get in.

So go suck on a lemon.

Hey Annoyed,
I read your little message. Your obviously a cold caller yourself. I am so please to hear you say how annoyed you are at people treating cold callers like poo. It would be so nice to find all cold callers get so annoyed they actually get the hint that is being rammed down your throat by the general public and STOP calling people. One day you might actually get a real job. That would be nice.

You see, I refuse to give charity to anyone over the phone. Yet you seem to imply that makes me selfish. I guess saying this to us, you are already aware I foster children, donate my time and I even help old ladies across the street.

So where you think you get the right to invade my private life using the emotional blackmail excuse of 'we are selfish' is pathetic.

If it was so easy to just say 'no thanks' I don't think this website would even exist. The fact is, 90% of cold callers are rude, hang up in our ears and abuse us. Then they call back again and again and again.. Which to me seems like a major waste of the dollars that are being generously donated to them.

The above comment 6 month's ago, Sept 26, 2011: 'Once again, we regret that this is an issue for you & will endeavour to resolve it promptly upon your advice that you are one of the unfortunate ones.' !!!
21/3/2012: I've had several calls from this source & can't get thru to them. What the hell is going on? Smart Health? God help us! I'm in Western Australia and have a 'silent number'. Is HBF responsible for this? I recently joined & they've already called me twice via 'market researchers' for feedback before I've even used their services. I'm also on 'Do Not Call List'.
The wurld's going bluddy mad!!

They contact me on my work mobile !!!
I am so sick of these calls, every day sometimes 3 times a day from a different number. I have blocked everyone of these numbers but they ring off another !!!
It is borderline harassment and I will be lodging a former complaint with Smart Health Australia.
I will never donate money to people who harass me !!!

Auto diallers automatically hang up if you answer the phone and dont say anything for 3 or 4 seconds. Then you know its an autodialler, block the number.

If your boss is making you call people randomly more than once and you cant put up with it anymore then first of all tell him he's a nob from me and also tell the idiot if people are going to donate money calling them 100 times will not only make someone not even consider donating money but they will never donate money to you ever and if you actually are a ligit buissness then its time to pull your head in and work harder rather than relying on advertising and bullsh*t media crap.Just as simple as a leflet drop or a registered door knocker would be more reasonable. But companies these days only think about one aspect $$$$$$$$.I hate advertising companies they can kiss my ass and until I know who's actually recieving the money i'll have to say unlucky.Bit of a shame really because people probably want to help but how can you blame them. Also prehaps only using one contact phone number instead of many dogey ones.......idiots.

It takes seconds to say no ...when many people suffer all of their life ...so stop being so selfish by thinking that your suffering from a few exstra phone calls ...and we don't ring you to ask you how old you are and what income or benifit your on or your finances and life story ...it's simple just say no thanks and hope that the next person can afford to help these people who reply suffer day in day out ...

I read your message. They don't sell health or life insurance. Never have!! They just raise money for charities.

I don't mind reading truthful messages, but when I see ones like this that are purely bullsh*t, I get annoyed. How many other numbers have you made similar untruthful comments about.

I suggest you get off the internet.
