Called me in a shockingly thick accent to say they were from NBN. They wanted to send a technician to connect my NBN. I said 'huh' are you from iiinet - because I have received all the gear and will do it myself. No she said she was an NBN technician that could come to my house and connect it for me. I thought to myself - great! I said will you cost anything? No she said ot is free! I said no thanks I can do it myself. Then she said - what is your address - I said it, then she asked what is your date of birth? I said are you from iiinet? No she said - we are from "NBN"
Woke up to myself and said - sorry scammer and hung up. Rang iinet they have not heard of NBN sending a technician - and are reporting this number yo the authorities.
They called and cut off right away. If it is how TPG does their customer service then I should move to another provider! Caller: TPG
TPG trying to switch my service from ADSL to NBN. After replying 'Stop' to their text messages, within 1 hour I had 2 calls and 2 further text messages. Very pushy and is making me consider signing up with another provider when I get decide to get the NBN.
Follow up to confirm my NBN installation. Legit number.
Internode confirming that nbn drop out issues have been resolved after a technician has come on site to rectify the issue.
Caller: Seems like TPG ads but they call and hang up
called me twice a day for 4 days so far and hang up i called back then i heard TPG so I don't why TPG playing with this number
Caller: Karen - TPG
This is legit TPG customer service as listed on this web paged
callback number Caller: TPG
This is the call center for TPG internet.
TPG also includes several subsidiaries such as iiNet (Australia), ADAM (Adelaide and my current provider), Internode (Adelaide), and likely other more local ones, like ADAM, from your particular state, is Westnet still around. So if you are a customer of any of those and get a call from TPG, its likely a legitimate call, moreso if you, like me, are waiting for a callback on a problem with your connection.
BUT if they are calling you out of the blue, or trying a hard sell. Tell them not interested in any offers and do not call unless it is directly related to a current connection issue.
If you are not a customer of any of the subsidiaries, then tell them to take your number off the list and don't call again.
If you are not already I suggest adding all of your home and mobiles numbers to the 'Do not call registry' for Australia, a quick google should find it for you, it will have a .gov.au as part of its URL, so is safe to use.
It is TPG on this No. They called to see if I was happy with the Service they gave a couple of days ago.
Someone was speaking, when I answered they hung up immediately. Scam Rang us a private mobile number.
No one spoke - just a prerecording asking to enter numbers.
We have no dealings with TPG and have never made any enquiries so if it is TPG they have no reason to call.
The caller also rang a number that is listed on the do not call register.
I would recommend that you don't take their calls.
this is also the iinet callback when addressing a technical fault Caller: TPG Complaints Handling
This number does not appear in Telstra's database. However, it is an authentic TPG number. After calling Telstra I called TPG on their 13 number.
It all checked out as legitimate. So, I'm happy.

They phoned in response to a complaint I made some days beforehand. Seemed authentic to me.
