Just had a call from that same number! accented female, possibly East Asia? India ? I'm getting way too many of these calls any time of the day, I just hang up. I'm approaching my 80th year, we've been at our home east of Melbourne since 1957, never had these problems when our phones were with the old Govt. owned PMG dept. Postmaster General! with an investigations department who really could and did investigate, we used to work with them when I was a "Cop." and they call this advancement??? I think NOT.

call from this no (02) 9191 9703 Indian voice saying he is from Centrelink. Gave me an Application ID no and asked me to call the Account Dept..Scammer scumbag.
Authority should de-activate this phone no.

Just had a call from this number, a woman claiming to be Jessica (foreign accent) from Centrelink, she said I was owed money from my pension, and because I didn't respond to the 2 letters they sent, I had been referred to head office, she even gave me an application form number - 244750M - to give the next person I spoke to. I have rung Centrelink, they knew nothing about this form or the letters I was supposed to have received. Bloody Scammers.

I received the same call from Indians, was doubtful of this call so led to believe I was going along with it so I could pass on the information to Centrelink and the police, in the hope other retirees/pensioners would not get sucked in. These guys are from Model Town in India New Delhi and claim they are from Human Services. The leaders of this country are nearly as disgusting as this lot of Indian thieves because they will not attempt to put a stop to the issues, disconnect this line or have them investigated. I had no trouble finding out details, via the net, of the postcode, the abuse of this number etc.

Whoever is the carrier of this number should something about this phone number ASAP or be responsible for reimbursing anyone who is out of pocket from bogus phone callers of this line.

I have received two calls from this number in the last hour. I don't answer if I don't recognise the number & as soon as it goes to message the caller hangs up.

They hung up as soon as I answered, so try to call them back....surprised! NOT!!!
Phone goes straight to engaged signal.

This number was on our phone calling number display when we got home tonight, after being out for most of the day. We are in Rockhampton in Central Queensland. We have almost taken the initiative of not answering calls if we do not know the number and checking them on sites like this. Glad to see who they are so we can have something good worked out to say when they ring again (which I am certain they will do).

Repeated calls by this crowd - really annoying and at all times of the day. Definite scam. Beware.

BEWARE OF TAX SCAM ! they are phoning from (02) 9191 9703. In an Indian voice of course..dead give away. She is claiming to be from the Taxation Department in Canberra.

Just had a call from these scammers said they were ATO Canberra. Likely story they hung up 40 seconds when I acted surprised at them saying I was entitled to a refund.

A call just went through to my retired mother who is battling cancer & very ill. She has been on a pension for a while now but was very confused & concerned at how legit this guy sounded. Said his name was James (no accent), stating she had been underpaid on her pension & the ATO were refunding her $7600. Gave her a reference # to use when calling back etc. thankfully I have conditioned her to check with me before doing anything with people over the phone. So glad I checked this & other sites - hundreds of complaints ranging back to 2012! How can the same scam still be running after so long when a lot of people have reported to police, ato etc??!

Claimed from tax department and I was a pensioner and had a refund for me.

I got this call and in a Foreign Accent.... I DEMANDED - YOU PAY ME MY MONEY NOW...He asked if I was (the pseudo name the phone number is under) He said he will REIMBURSE me can you give me your DETAILS...I secretly Laughed and left the phone off the hook & walked away....I did not give him any details or talk again...Returned to phone & he was gone....By By....

I said hello but no one answered and then they just hung up.

Yeah just got a phone call from Indian guy saying he was from Canberra tax dept, he didn't let me get a word in kept talking over me, when I said all this is a scam he laughed and I just hung up. I wish they could get caught, anyone know if they are being checked out and who would you ring to report it, I worry about the desperate people who need money might get scammed, by these idiots.

(02) 9191 9703 just had a call I said hello and they hung up its a sip number it would not be to hard to hack if you know the sip given the feds have access to the network its not that hard to do I am sure they are supporting terrorists with the monies they thieve.
