Starts with a funny sound, like one of those os scam numbers who run autodialling, then switch you to an available operator only after you pick up. Said he was Shakir from Vodafone, but really sounded like a scam. The first thing he wanted was a pin; and somehow they sent me a text at the same time saying I was talking to a Vodafone team member who for security reasons needed my pin. Hey, but they called me! Why do they need my pin just to tell me there is some offer. I reckon it is a scam.

i missed this call twice... do a search on internet and found this site- thank you to all who posted this - great community awareness . VodaFone should alert their customers of such unwelcoming call like this .
Keep safe and stay alert is the key.

Receiving multiple calls from this number saying they are Vodafone and asking for my PIN number. I called Vodafone direct to ask if this was in fact then and it was not. Total scam! and they advised that they would never cold call and ask for pin number.
Scammers!

Ignoring the issue of whether they should be asking for a PIN or not which sounds highly suspicious, this is one of the official Vodafone Customer Service phone #'s. Just check out their Customer Service website https://www.vodafone.com.au/support/contact/customer-care and you find this and many other numbers in the same range listed as Vodafone Customer Servive Phone #'s.

This number IS one of the ones Vodafone uses for sales. it may be annoying but it is legitimate.
There's a whole list of their numbers they use on their website.

If this really is vodafone, why do they call me 5 times in 48 hours and not leave a voicemail regarding their call. Borderline harassment!

They make this call to customers who are paying less than $40 per month - Vodafone keeps trying to up-sell service plans that are of less value.

As well as this, when your plan becomes really bad value for money - they will let you stay on it without any spam calls.

Hope this helps!

From Sydney.

I answered the call and after a pause there was a strange noise followed by a man with an Indian accent saying he was from Vodafone. That was as far as he got before I hung up.

Called 3 times in less than 24 hours. Take a hint I am not interested. The one time I answered, I advised I'm not interested and that I am working and if I needed anything I would go to my local Vodafone shop. They then called again two hours later...Cold calling at its worst.

apparently it is Vodaphone, but it's pretty useless either way, they kept asking for my mum despite calling my phone (???) If they call again I'll request they stop calling me lest I change providers.

Called after business hours and did not address me by name like most legitimate callers will do if you have an account with them.
Very thick Indian accent asking to discuss my plan and upgrading it. Told him it's a brand new phone and if he actually had my account details he would have known that. There was silence after that so I hung up.
Might appear as a legitimate Vodafone number but they can be spoofed by anyone.
