Caller type: Scam call
Location: Australia
Caller: Vodafone

Called after business hours and did not address me by name like most legitimate callers will do if you have an account with them.
Very thick Indian accent asking to discuss my plan and upgrading it. Told him it's a brand new phone and if he actually had my account details he would have known that. There was silence after that so I hung up.
Might appear as a legitimate Vodafone number but they can be spoofed by anyone.

It's a scam using Vodafone number.. I don't even have a Vodafone account, gave them false names and they agreed with everything I said, so obviously they didn't have any of my info. Then they asked for all my identity details. SCAMMERS!

This number calls me every few days. I know from what I have read that it is a Vodafone sales number BUT they are breaking Australian law as they are calling after 6pm at night and these days that is illegal.

Definitely not Vodafone, I've blocked this number, unfortunately they have several numbers they call from. Thanks for this site and to the perfect who participated 😊

It is a Vodafone telemarketer trying to get you to upgrade your mobile phone. They have been hitting me twice a day since stock of the new iPhone 15 arrived. The reason they ask for your PIN is that they are only doing what you could do for yourself online through My Vodafone, so need your PIN to log in. While not a scam call, they are persistent and a bloody nuisance. I’ve sent complaints to Vodafone in the past about this ploy, because the last thing a responsible company should be doing is training people to give out their PIN numbers to an incoming caller. Even if you do want to upgrade your phone, if you can afford to buy it outright instead of buying it through your phone account, you’ll pay a couple hundred $ less buying over the counter at JB HiFi.

This number is NOT A SCAM. It was to call to upgrade my iPhone and I gave no details other than my name and told them I read on this website that it was a scam and so he proved to me it wasn’t by telling me the exact phone I have even my internet I have with them and he told me my plan amount and my last bill and the date I paid it. I have nothing away other than my name and now I am being upgraded to an iPhone 15 pro max sent to the address I have in their system. I don’t understand why so many people thought it was a scam. I’m happy with my upgrade plus it’s cheaper than my iPhone 12 Pro Max plan I’m currently on.

Unfortunately scammers can mirror a legitimate phone number just to obtain your details. One commenter did the right thing by calling Vodafone directly and clarified it’s not their process to call out to customers and ask for their PIN number. I guess we just need to ignore this number when you don’t need anything from voda 🤷🏻‍♀️

DO NOT TRUST - After receiving a missed call from this number, Vodafone texted a link to the trustworthy numbers they call from so they must be aware of this dumb scam

Stunned at how many people don't know the purpose of a pin number check is to identify, they are talking to the actual person that owns the phone.
It is a legit call, about plans.
Has nothing to do with Voda scammers.

Caller: Said it was vodafone

I got an indian guy saying he was from Vodafone - so far legit, and he asked if I wanted to upgrade my phone plan, but wanted to verify my identity first. I said to him he needed to give me my name first and he said due to privacy he cannot tell me my name until I have verified my PIN number. He then suggested I go to the website and view offers on there and hung up. Apparently they call was recorded for the usual reasons so management of vodafone should take a big look at their cold calls and stop them. If it was Vodafone.
