Caller: Fake Vodafone

An overseas person rang me, i answered, they took 6 seconds to response, straight away said that Vodafone wanted to upgrade me, and asked me for the 4 digit PIN. I felt it was a scam within 20 seconds!!!

Called me ten times in the past week, several times of which were past 7pm. I’ve not answered any. Apparently it’s an approved vodafone third-party number but if vodafone genuinely has to contact me about something they’d do it themselves, through text or email or possibly the app, and in a more professional manner.

This is a Scam, I have called Vodaphone via 1555 they have nothing noted on my file about calls being made. They admit the number was listed as an approved Vodaphone number but it not them making it. They have asked me to block the number and never respond or give out details. They are aware of the scam

This is Vodafone, the number (02) 9015 3801 is listed as one of their customer care numbers. They were offering an NBN package

Told me I'm getting more data. About a minute into the call said that they were recording the call.

I asked how much this would cost me and they then asked for my Pin.

He said that they'd sent me a text to confirm that I was talking to a vodafone person, but how does that make sense security wise? It would be anyone spoofing the number.

ignore the text they send to "prove" it's actually vodafone, all vodafone texts come from AUVodafone or Vodafone, not AUVODAFONE. It's a scam number, vodafone would never call you and ask for your pin straight away.

just got a call from this today, first off yes this is a Vodafone number, I've got logs from previous calls and took one of their data upgrade packages (still on it). Second its from an Indian call centre most likely cold calling everyone on the register for the same reason, promoting packages and plans and so forth, if you are sick of these calls just block their number and any services you need changing you can do online or call them up yourself.
