Talia called my office number asking about a friend whom she only could have found a mutual connection with via facebook. Would not disclose the "personal reason" as to why she was attempting to contact said friend.

James - Your concern should probably be, how to pay back a debt rather than complaining about friends being called. That would avoid any future calls, right?

Asked for another member of the household. Said she was calling on a personal matter, would not disclose anything else except she was calling from Sydney. Willingly gave her phone number even though it showed no caller id on my phone. So suspicious.

It is a debt collector company based in North West Sydney. They look at the social media platform of the person they are looking for in an attempt to call the friends of the intended person. A clear violation of Privacy Act 1991 (Cth) as these friends never give consent to such company to contact them.
The numbers could be from (02) 8651 5040 to (02) 8651 5060.

I called back number (02) 8651 5050 spoke to a woman named Talia who said company name is Credit Corp a debt collection company.

Didn't catch the woman's name but she said my number was given as a Net of Kin, emergency contact number. She would not identify her company and said the matter was a personal matter.
I guess they are just doing their job but I believe they should identify their company when they call and are specifically asked.

Talia from credit corp....my concern is that they apparently have the phone numbers of my friends, whom she has rung, claiming they are listed as next of kin or closest living person that knows me. I've never given any of my friends details in this manner...EVER!
