The first giveaway is quite a lengthy pause that has you saying "Hello?.......Hello? ...is anyone there?" ..over and over a few times before, through the hazy static of the bad line, a birdy-num-nums accented voice gets their sh*t together and says your name and asks if its you they are speaking with. .....and that's the second giveaway for me .
.......and the its GAME ON!!!
....I keep saying hello hello, pretending not to hear them ...or only just able to hear them and ask them to speak up
- then I say who is this who is this (never confirming my name) just get them working and moving on with their script
- she says her name and says she is with CNS
- I say "WHO????....who are you?......CNN did you say?"
- No CNS we are an insurance company
- what's that you say missy, you're CNN and you want to show me something ?
- No we are wanting to talk to you about insurance
- Oh, you want to talk with me about something you want to -show us- ....and it will be on CNN...is that it
[right about now this young curry munching scammer scum bag is really getting the sh*ts on with me]
NO NOW LISTEN TO ME SHE SAYS (very angrily and shouting) WE WANT TO TELL YOU ABOUT INSURANCE ......PERSONAL INSURANCE"
---- WHAT'S THAT? I shout back.....You have something personal you want to show us?
.....young lady, I'm married, I don't want you showing me anything personal, I'm not into any kinky over the phone stuff
----- At this point she has a HUGE meltdown and really gets angry with me and starts shouting at me to listen and then angrily explains what ever bullsh*t she has been trying to say...
--- I then pull her up and say "Now Missy, I don't like your tone very much, damn you I. Gonna have to hang up now, you take whatever personal stuff you wanted to -show us- and stick it in your poppadom!" And I hung up on her

That was fun. And they haven't called back ....yet...either

Had a call from them (re insurance as most other people have had). They said their company name was Contact Network Services and URL is contactnetworkservices.com.au. This domain is owned by 1 TOUCH SOLUTIONS PTY LTD with ABN 58169119500 which checks out, as one of this company's business names is Contact Network Services http://abr.business.gov.au/SearchByAbn.aspx?abn=58169119500

Address is listed as 9 Persimmon Pl Werribee VIC 3030

They seem to go through quite a few business names - http://abncheck.com.au/abn/58169119500

Also said they got my details from australiandataservices.com.au

They've been heavily canvassing again with their message of "we're not selling anything but want to talk to you about Insurance" - they seem to have four numbers they cycle through that they've hit me with to date: (03) 8202 5116, (02) 8103 1135, (02) 8103 1136 and (02) 8104 1014. HINT: if you have the time speak very s l o w l y and ask them to repeat what they say often.

They rang fishing for the name of the owner of my mobile number. They started by asking for someone other than me then asked if I owned the mobile number. I told them it was none of their business, then they hung up. Suggest being very careful when answering this number. I did not provide my name through the whole conversation

Fed up and so over it

Over the past 2 weeks I have suddenly been getting phone calls all around 6.45pm onwards from someone "not wanting to sell anything but want to talk about insurance" who seem to ask for me personally (I only picked up the first one without checking the caller before I hung up) and from then on I have let go unanswered (twice) from Dublin Ireland +353 (1) 699 4537, Redcliffe Queensland (07) 3060 2204, Eltham Victoria (03) 8400 6005, and tonight was from Bankstown NSW (02) 8103 1135. All have been blocked but they keep coming from other directions. No pun intended but I put up these list of numbers as they may ring a bell with others who have also been targeted.

They called me today asking whether I had insurance. When I asked about how they got my naeme and mobile number they told that thru Australian Data Services (http://www.australiandataservices.com.au). I asked my contact details to be removed from their databese and the hanged up before I could ask more. This looks very fishy.

Caller: No name given - avoided that

SCAMMERS - I get their calls nearly ever day and I write this to help you avoid scammers. They have many phone numbers so you cannot block them all. They use disgusting abusive language like f**ck word a lot when you ask them not to call. They all have had Indian accent and there is a pause at the start like the phone is switching to another country. Mine say they are from Engagement group - like it is some kind of business or company. made up I suspect as they also hit you with other fake names. They will give you a sales pitch without listening to you at all - asking your name and is this your phone so they can record information and data about you. Even if they hang up or you hang up they will add another small piece to there call list - know a little bit more about you every failed attempt. I suggest you do not give name or any info about you. lead them on if you want some fun but don't buy or commit to anything. After they get your name you are usually passed through to another department for sales conversions. These are the big guys who can really sell and are the worse scammers possible. Basically cheats who will say anything to get your money. They receive a commission from companies here in Australia for them to get new contacts and make sales. These companies should be found out and fined to adopting these scum bags who do this. It is illegal in Australia to harass people like this. Secondly the honest people doing business fairly have the phone hung up on if they think it is this type of scammer. Aust businesses loose because of this and the consumers affairs people need to track down these scam centers and confiscate all their assets. I would like ot find out where they operate from if anyone knows. My phone says Bankstown, NSW. I get so enraged to a point where I would like to pay them a visit with a baseball bat and demolish most of their computers, phones and possible scammer heads. Violence is the only option for me as our country does not help to stop this. I have tried to be nice to these people and ask them not to call. The police do not care I am being harassed daily. The federal police couldn't be bothered and our government does not enforce laws we have in place to stop this. I have friends who speak good English but with an accent and they are loosing business and having people hang up on them because they hear the accent and immediately think they are one of these scammers. They are not they are good clean business people with good ethics. Send complaints to consumers affairs - contact your local MP or call the federal police.

Go to https://www.donotcall.gov.au/consumers/register-your-numbers/. It allows you to register up to 20 numbers and reduce the amount of unwanted telemarketing calls. It takes about 30 days, but after that you'll hardly get any calls except from charities.
