Got bounced from NAB to Citibank's phone lines when trying to call back after getting a silent voicemail. (not a customer of either bank by the way), sounds like a scam to me.

I received a call from this number but didn't recognise it, so I rejected it. And guess what? They didn't leave a voicemail. A good sign that it's most likely a telemarketing call (at best) or a scam. Besides which, I don't even have a Citibank account and never have!

This was the number that called me to follow up on a coles mastercard application. In my opinion it is legit. People who were called and said they don't even have that card perhaps it was an accidental call. Theres probably hundreds of staff calling all sorts of people all day. its bound to happen. As always though, be careful what information you share. and if in doubt, find their number and call if you are a bit suspicious.

Caller: Citibank It’s legitimate, I did apply for a credit card and they just needed to verify that it was me who applied for it and not someone else using my details to apply for it. Got the confirmation text and email from Citibank a few minutes after to confirm that my card application has been approved.

Caller: Coles Mastercard credit call centre I applied for a Coles Mastercard recently. This call centre rang back to ask for further information. Left a 1300 number to call back. Seems legit. If you dont think so, simply ignore.

Caller: Possibly Citibank....?? Rang out or hung up upon answer. If it is legit or important, they will call back, after they leave a message. Neither occurred.

Caller: Scammer This is a scam. Do not give them any information and do not phone any numbers they suggest. Call the number on the back of your credit card if you really want to check it with your bank. The scammers are leaving comments on number check websites saying that this is legitimate when it is of course NOT.

Probably a scam - did not identify himself. Others are saying it was from "Citibank" but I don't have a Citibank account (I did for a while).

Caller: not sure Cannot be a legitimate call from citibank, because calling the number results in an automated wrong number message.

Got a call - Went into voicemail - upon checking the voicemail there was no sound. I would expect if it was legit - for the customer service agent to leave a message as to what the call is for. So I think this is a spam/dodgy/phishing call.

Caller: Citi Bank Call received from (02) 8027 2000. Did not answer the call but called back shortly after. The call was in relation to a Coles Mastercard that I applied for two days ago. The call taker provided information which I submitted on the application. They provided me with an email, which I checked out, to submit current payslips to finalise the application. I was previously advised I would receive a call in relation to supplying documentation via email. Its always good to be cautious, but on this occasion not a scam. Coles moved its financial services to Citibank, which is owned by NAB, in 2018.
