Caller: Fraud investigations These calls are legitimate.
There is fraud analytics reviewing all transactions for suspicious behaviour, this is called modelling.
Sometimes a company's data can be compromised causing a breach (think Apple or Netflix and the amount of Credit Card information they would have stored in their database and imagine that got hacked). It is a legal requirement for the company that has had the data leak to advise the relevant authorities or governing bodies within 24hrs of them becoming aware. That info is provided to the Financial Institutions (FI's); ie CBA, NAB, ANZ etc...
Massive penalties are imposed if they're a data breach's that could have been avoided if these companies followed the security recommendations that are made by the FI's

Caller: Scam Wanted my credit card details. A lot of noise in the back ground, like an Indian call centre. Also said they wanted to come to Australia so they could make a lot of money and be able to bring over all their relatives, including their cousin, who they were going to marry one day.

Caller: Coles MasterCard I double checked the number with coles financial services website. It is coles and they are genuine but as I only use my card to pay a mobile phone bill once a month it’s a mystery how my details were hacked. All ok now but still concerned about coles / Citibank security.
