My elderly Father just rung me from Townsville, Qld asking if i knew this number. I googled it and found this discussion board as-well. thanks everybody. he said he tried to ring it but no answer. Scumbags

Jason O'Connor yet again. The last time he rang and left the message saying there was a warrant out for my arrest I decided (knowing it was a scam) that I would ring the number back. Immediately answered and when I said why I was ringing (re message) he asked for my telephone number not my TFN. That was hilarious. Needless to say the phone call didn't last!

just got a call today ,when i picked up the phone and there was a delay in his answering, that was what tipped me off straight away, we get called every single day by some other subcontinental twit claiming to be from'the microsoft technical department, ,one day after told him to %#*$ off he rang back and suggested he was being intimate with my other half.! just scumbags.

I have received 2 phone calls in the past few days in regards to being charged with Tax Evasion and Avoidance. This guy was American and his name was David. The message left sounded very rehearsed, like he was reading from a script. He said that I wasn't to ignore this message and was to call back urgently to save prosecution. He said he was from the Commonwealth Department of Prosecutions calling on behalf of the ATO. The American guy was from this number and the other one was from a lady calling from Brisbane - didn't catch her name but the number is (07) 3483 0456. Most definitely a scam.

We also had the same message left on our phone, which is also an unlisted number. Our tax agent still has our tax for this year, as we have been overseas, so I knew it was a scam immediately. Also, my beautician in Midland had the identical call, but was very distressed about it, until she discovered it was a fraudulent call. Like KC, I felt the call was a recording of electronic speech, and Jason O'Connor is a figment of some sick person's imagination.

The scammers are still around November 2015. Message left on answering machine from a JASON BAROKI ??(or something close to that). Claiming to be from ATO in Canberra, but leaves a Sydney number to call back on. Same speil regarding fraud. He does not mention our names in message. If this was the ATO they would send official letters.

I tried the return number so I could give him an earfull, but number is constantly engaged.

Just had a message from these and thought scam straight away. Dogey.

A scam call from Jason O'Connor, sounds American. On the message, he told me I had a legal court case issued under my name by the Australian Tax Office for tax evasion or tax avoidance and wanted me or my attorney to ring him back. He sounded rude and persistent.

Please inform anyone you know about this scam as I'd hate for anyone to get caught by these morons

Saying he's from the Australian Tax Office. I knew it was a scam immediately but feel sorry for others who will be traumatized by these losers

I just received the same. This is just unbelievable. Luckily I typed the number into Google and came across this discussion board. It just didn't feel right

I got a similar message yesterday from a Jason O'Connor.

I just got the same message on my answering service. I called back and spoke to Andrew he said hang on and then hung up. It's vry nerve racking for older people. I will report Police. I am grateful for this site too.

1.52pm 31st July 2015 = "You have a legal matter filed under your name for fraud and it requires immediate attention. Please call (02) 6152 8631 (and repeats the number)". Oh dear if it was that urgent surely they would know my name! Anyway, I am taking a print of this email to the Police to see what they can do with it . . . .

couldn't understand him properly computer generated voice, he did ask not to disregard this to ring or get my attorney to ring immediately, commonwealth something in Canberra, no name in the beginning so how does he know he's telling the right person?

Recd same message today at around 11.30 - had one once before - same old stuff. Interesting that they are not even clever enough to ask for you by name - just launch into the tirade.

I just received a msg on my answering machine from a guy woth an American accent from CDDPP in Canberra saying he was investigating a lawsuit against me for fraud and tax evasion and to call him back immediately on (02) 6152 8631.
I googled the number and found all your comments that its a scam.
